Extreme Snake Oil

Snake oil cables... that actually looks like snakes;

Here are some "anaconda" cables that are probably so transparent that you can even hear what wasn't recorded! They might be ideal for breaking the connections of the devices they're plugged into if their weight matches their size. I find this kind of tech eccentricity really funny and it makes me laugh a lot.

Apart from snake oil BS marketing - can a cable possibly be any more unattractive or less aesthetical? I mean it could easily ruin a Chipperfield or Lloyd Wright house by its mere presence.

Q: How absurdly ugly and full of BS shall it be?
A: Yes!!

Best used as a draft excluder rather than actually connected to the audio system. Just having them somewhere in the room should be, as we have seen, sufficient to make whatever audio improvements are necessary.

This is one of the reasons I think they are DIY. No commercial cable operation would bother, you can rip people off just as easily with something much easier to ship and more aesthetically pleasing so there's just no need to go crazy.

Had a pal bring over a huge power cable one time, knowing I'm a sceptic, and insist I try it. It was about an inch thick with massive industrial size connectors either end. It was very inflexible and it was really hard to actually hook it up. Needless to say, no veils were lifted. Even he agreed although he stopped short of telling me my system wasn't resolving enough to show up the improvement.

Or, it was your tin ears. The two last resort statements of the "you must believe you ears crowd", not good enough equipment and you have tin ears. Like a 75 year old man listening to music and making decisions on product.. What could possibly go wrong?

My pal is a self-professed golden ear so he's sure he'd have heard it even if I didn't, meaning the 'you must be deaf' argument couldn't apply.

Needs more treble and the right channel seems like it's not as loud as the left.

Hi, for Your Eyes:

This video ( German video) made me laugh a lot.
How can anyone believe this stuff?
For those like me who live in Germany, Michael is known for having built a small community of vinyl enthusiasts...
but how can you propose these things without bursting out laughing, but remaining serious...?

I didn't know about these products that promise incredible things without any minimum instrumental verification...

:-)
