Extreme Snake Oil

You're way off the mark there. Not least from the fact I am in no way offended. Though I wish I was offended because someone laughed at my 4million bux system. :p

Plus I've posted my request for commentary on posted videos elsewhere on the forum. It's just common courtesy in my view.
I would ad that posting a pic here doesn’t support/give money to the thing being posted. Posting a YouTube video does, and I don’t want to give Google my eyeballs, or snake oil dealers a fraction of a cent and validation through my viewership.

I have never ever clicked on a YouTube review link posted anywhere. I watch plenty of bad technology pitch videos for work, I most certainly don't need to perpetuate the experience in my private life. And heaven knows the masses of wannabe audio reviewers and an audience willing to subject itself their BS provides a very fertile ground.

Anyone needs a $650K turntable? View attachment 406224

Ha ha! This is a dolled up mastering lathe! Well, if nothing else, you could bask in the glory of knowing that, mechanically, the turntable is as close as you could get to identical to the machine that made the plastic disc you're listening to!

4 million dollars sound system
Looks like crap to me and I can "almost" guarantee it sounds bad too. I have to say exposing the fact that anyone spent 4 million on an atrocious system like that is showing the world how you make bad life choices. But then, I'm not a high end elite audiophile.....

a $3100 AC outlet that changes the way you listen to music...

It "will improve resolution, soundstage, and overall tonal/timbre balance in your system..."

I wonder how many of those have been sold. Looks like an ordinary maybe hospital grade outlet to me, a few bucks' worth at most. We first got cables, then footers, and now this. I propose the next iteration-an audiophile grade extension cord. The more of them you buy and connect in series, the better your equipment sounds! With outlets, you can use only one at a time, but with the cords, you get to use as many as you need to reach audio nirvana.

That's basically the grounding box scam only with that they get to sell you boxes of gravel as well as the cables to connect them.

Recently I discovered the best tweak to improve my system soundstage, timber, vocals, you name it.
I put two ALFs on my power amps and voila.
The cosmic rays from Melmac transformed my system completely.
And they’re cheap too as ALF is not as popular as he used to be.

... And the the presenter went "WoW!!", when the "designer" told him that the crossovers had variable level and phase !!, Seriously!! ???
What a pile of B.S.!!!

Peace.

I once heard it at an audioshow...in fact I saw it, because I (and all the others in that room) could not hear a iota difference with or without this thing connected...

Van den Hul goes beyond just being a hifi scam artist- because he also sells quack medicine stuff, he is a truly evil toad.

Oooh, looks like my hifi room duplex outlets! They were rather less than $3100 a pop, though.

A recent Audiophilestyle post uses 9570 words to describe how the sound of a new Taiko server ($73,000 - server only, no DAC) changes with every slight power-use change on the CPU. The server uses batteries for power. Although the server has internal storage available, AS says to use an external NAS instead, because an internal SSD changes the sound of the server...

Reality Quest: Review of the Taiko Audio Olympus Music Server (Part 2 of 2)

"...it turns out there is a VERY significant sound quality impact with the Olympus as the system needs to do more data processing (that is, consumes more power).... I was hearing amazing magic with some tracks, and more flat and more lifeless playback with other tracks. The magic tracks were consuming less power to play back, and the flat/lifeless tracks were consuming more power to play back."

For those of us familiar with 'Archimago's Musings,' remember he actually started his blog to disprove all the BS around "audiophile computers" that circulated at the time.

Here's the innards. I could not find the weight. The Taiko website does not list specs, or even a product page, but says they have currently shipped 40 pre-orders. I assume this is a streamer also, with Tidal and Spotify Connect, because the plebeian model 'Extreme', at only $35K US, can stream also.

Do you think there is an Intel Nuc and Raspberry Pi hidden underneath all this expensive case-work?

Utterly pointless, but beautifully made, nonetheless.
