Have we discussed this yet? USD$14,000 if I’m not mistaken…

I can’t even tell what they think it’s supposed to do.

BS meter saturated at “quantum acoustics”

I think here the point is not whether the device is actually doing something to improve the sound quality or not, but rather the fools buying it due to lack of understanding how digital connections actually work...

The main point is they cost a pittance to make so the potential profit margins from marks are tremendous.

More over engineered and expensive stuff.

In this DAC/streamer, each streaming service you want comes on a SEPARATE board that you plug into the back plane.

So if you want to run squeezelite, HQP and UPNP then thats three boards, each costing 1300 Euro each.

All very interesting.... but we can all obviously ask why not a single board that can support multiple streaming services?

Dude. Sonons... or phonons... or whatever.

seems to be a power distribution block but what makes it special is it uses "Quantum Acoustics Resonant Feedback Theory" and everyone knows that Quantum costs lots of money.

Peter

I dunno -- not sure they're that collectible ... but, no, I haven't checked prices. ;)

Of course, the big problem with a Quantum automobile is going out in the morning, getting in, turning the key -- and remembering that whether or not it will start depends on probability.

$380,000 (give or take a few grand) just on cables:

''They claim that the Silver-Gold alloy also exhibits positive aging, that electrically, the wires continue to improve over time, even when not playing music, much along the lines of that of fine wines improving with aging.''

Negative aging would be much more noteworthy -- at least from a thermodynamic perspective.
Of course, not that entropy cannot be locally reversed... but if it were universally reversed... well, heck, that'd be worth $380k.
;)

They didn't test it because the cables had been stuck with DHL, yet wrote this:

"Given my previous handful of experiences with the top-flight Siltech looms, in particular, the Royal Crown or Royal Triple Crown series, I would expect to be treated to an exhilarating level of performance, including rich, vibrant, faithful tonality, engaging texture, with a corporal rendering of instrumental body and bloom, with exceptional resolution and resultant transparency to the upstream sources. More as that unfolds!"

A bunch of clowns.

You can take the audition as read.

This is the first time I've seen the term 'Hyper-Audio' used. Is this a new concept or should I be getting out more?

I have my doubts about 'Connectology' being a real word also. He doesn't put it in inverted commas.

We are impatiently waiting for the $1m mono cable (2 for stereo=...) and 2 mono pres for the same amount, the same for the power blocks (1m each), the turntable + the arm and the cartridge (so 3m! o yeah!) and the speakers! Come on, one more effort!

[emphasis added]

Did they really write corporal (as in corporal punishment)-- and not corporeal?

They have similar meanings, but I am pretty sure corporeal would be preferred in that example. ;)
I think 'corporeal' is always preferred in the context of the human body, as it has only one meaning.
'Corporal' has 2 if not 3 meanings.
