I suffer the disadvantage of teaching quantum mechanics, so fantastic advances like this device go totally over my head.

I have done measurements and published results on several miraculous technologies (Bybee, Synergistics...) whose clearly audible effects (assuming you have a sufficiently resolving system and sensitive ears, they tell me) somehow elude test equipment. The lack of any effect on the signal discouraged the True Believers and the scam artists marketing to them not an iota. So... why bother?
 
Is a quantum field organizer a bit like filofax?

Moved a few more new posts in. Have contractors coming out on Monday to pump down the overflowing “Snake Oil” storage tanks. For now please be cautious about any surface leakage as treading into a small spill can result in seepage and tracking which can potentially result in dangerous lines of thinking…

What is this thing supposed to do: Silent Power Lan Ipurifier Pro. And how do people thing it i proves anything.
I mean am I insane:
Router cheap box: goes into this cheap box. Signal gets coverted from electrical to optical to electrical. The thing comes with cheap power suply connected to the cheap router … I mean how …. even if it does what it promises…. hoe? and how is this relevant …. and they talk with such conviction?

A guy bought a hdmi cable but didn’t like the sound …. I mean, I don’t kNow where exactly he stick the cable :D
 
no this is just cheap talk.
Galvanic isolation I get. I also use optical cables, but this thing, just takes an electrical signal, shortly converts it to optical and back to electrical. the box is connected to the same mains system as the router … there is still electrical connection among router, weird box and sound device.

if it converts from electrical to optical and goes to the device i understand… but this is not doing that.
 
Yep, the Silent Power Lan Ipurifier Pro performs a pointless conversion from Ethernet to optical and back to Ethernet. It seems you can trigger any audiophool with the "noise" boogeyman. I can't find any actual reviews of the device but that might be because its fairly new to market.

I think here the point is not whether the device is actually doing something to improve the sound quality or not, but rather the fools buying it due to lack of understanding how digital connections actually work...

Well, you can get actual troublesome noise into Ethernet, just run a 60m cable through a workshop full of heavy machinery. Been there. I used a $50 switch and it provided enough attenuation even in that situation.

So I'm not sure when something like this is actually useful. What are the noise characteristics of optical transceivers used in this way?

Capacitive coupling trougth the PCB etc and actual noise transfered optically , this does not works as well as you think ...

even if you don't need it .

Ifi ? did they not make some respectable stuff ? have they slid over to the dark side , another brand to avoid then .
