Extreme Snake Oil

I left a bar of Toblerone on a speaker once. I didn’t really get a chance to decide if it improved the sound as my kids ate it.
Keith
 What a missed opportunity! They shrunk down the size of Toblerone recently I think.
You'll never get that chance back to explore it! :( lol

I can't see how this is possible. After all, there are fewer than 10,000 craft breweries in the US, and even if they average over 10 beers each, that's fewer than 100,000 taps. Besides, the bar would have to be incredibly long. So a million taps? Nope, can't see it.

What..? Not those kinds of taps? But aren't those the important kind?

You guys are still here?
I was surprised when I saw new posts being added.
Move along, move along
:)

We can't really nail down the issues here with sufficient precision until we get past 1 million posts.
Thread merged into appropriate Master thread.

I have to admit, I've never heard things 300 db down while doing blind listening. OTOH, a little hallucinogenic help makes it very easy to hear, and then some.
you don't even need a DAC or scaler with enough "hallucinogenic help" o_O i will hear the quarks singing to me

This video is funny and belongs here on ASR as a mascot. LOL.

I didn't know Hitchen's Razor, other than Occam's, are there any more?

That's funny, I'd actually heard most of those, without knowing they were attributed.

And in this thread, we may get past 1 million posts.
Not quite Carl Sagan territory, but he'd probably still be pleased...

I wonder if -300 dB is important, why this distortion at -118 dB is not:

Or this kind of noise floor variation:

index.php

This is noise changing from -107 to -112. He is serving food on dirty dishes yet washings the spoon 100 times and claims he is being very hygienic.
Either level is vastly below human hearing's ability to detect.

I love these!

I have a few of my own:

The closer you get to the actual problem, the greater the resistance you meet. (More psychology that electronics.)

If you forget to bring a tool, you will need it.

I just saw jumpers for 10,1k US dollars. As much as you need jumpers, I'd say for the price alone this qualifies for the Extreme Snake Oil category:
