Extreme Snake Oil

I found the video is informative.
How? You can't even compare the clips because not the same parts are playing... Not to mention the fact that you're listening to a recording of audio playback through speakers over YouTube, with probably at least two times re-compression... If there were any actual differences, they would be easily measurable if they survive that much degradation.

Some important considerations when introducing cable lifters may include the impact of cable droop between lifters AND the problem of non symmetrical signal leakage at the point of contact between cable and lifter. A cable tensioner can alleviate the impact of cable droop. Custom lead foam insulators may address the contact leakage problem.

An emoji.. So we are sure? You know... ;)

Yes, those 3 snake oils degraded sound. Between them, there’s still difference

I should have stated that a cable tensioner May alleviate the impact of cable droop instead of Can alleviate…. When I posted I was befuddled by the long thread dealing with veneer matching and fine woodworking in the context of the MoFi concentric loudspeaker.

book-matched veneered tinker-toys for cable-droop fixtures...
an audiophile 'must have' with a nutty money price attached... will redefine impulse-buy, as well...

Is this a joke? Or real?

Well If the editors of Stereophile recommend these interconnects to friends and family, I’d go all in. Any passive components which feature multiple types of material and solder points must add value.

Well, if I can get rid of the chalky midrange on my music, I'll be pleased. It aggravates me no end...:facepalm:

but this one is fast and smooth. I think I could live with some chalkiness if I had fast and smooth:

Platinum Starlight gave the digital signal the luxury ride it was meant to enjoy—fast, smooth, and effortless. Suitable for top-flight systems

Top flight systems only though. Does mine qualify? How do I know?

Chalky midrange is a pretty serious problem. There are several potential solutions: standard chalkboard eraser wiped gently across the midrange unit followed by the purchase of a silk midrange drape placed over the midrange unit. The silk drapes are available from any high end dealer and frequently are sold with an ionization package. A “magic eraser” treated with a small spray of contact cleaner is a more costly solution and may yield a marginally better result. At the top end of the solution family are custom midrange “rings” similar to those sold to stabilize CDs. If your chalky midrange is evident in a two way or planar system, there is probably no solution.

Could be a good thesis defense statement.

DO NOT use a standard eraser, this can lead to a swipy or cloudy midrange. Use Audioqvest’s Clarity(tm) midrange eraser for a crystal clear midrange. $800, or $2000 with our Chalk Eliminator(tm) cleaner.

"silk drapes" !!?!?!?!?! Are you advocating the addition of veils? I thought the whole purpose of HiFi jewellery was to remove them!

I agree with both of the points above. On the “chalky” midrange problem, the silk veil coupled with the eraser application will distribute the chalkiness and smooth as silk reduce but not eliminate the underlying issue. Veiling is a usually minor side effect. Incidentally a set of high end veil weights offers further improvement. If I ever post againI will try to be more clear.
