Vacuum tube testers were a thing when vacuum tubes were popular. It seems like the design objective was to make a tester with every kind of socket and complex switching to assign the pins to the test circuit for every model of tube.

There is an active market in salvaging old tube testers, and some upgrades with digital meters. Calibrating them would be nice.

There are a new generation of digital tube testers which are simplified, which reduces the price.

Duokit from Elecify in China, MaxiTest in Seattle, a more expensive Amplitrex controlled by PC software, are some

Any experience in the ASR community with them? The objective is servicing tube audio amplifiers.

Have no experience with the mentioned testers above because for hobby these are too expensive, at least for me. Instead I purchased a uTester kit from dos4ever.com
This gives me nice actual curves and data from my tubes which is great when selecting pre-amp tubes. For power tubes you get also the curves and data but since these are shortime values with a cold tube it is not warranted that these will work when under full load in an amplifer. So I test power tube in an amplifier to see how they do.
Same with power tubes tested on other so called digital testers when it is a shorttime test. Some reviews stated that the values and/or good/bad indication is not good enough.
