Exciting news from Onkyo and Pioneer: TX-RZ70/ VSX-LX705, TX-RZ9/VSX-LX905 = Auro 3D + DLBC!

The TX-RZ1100 is still on the Onkyo USA web site.
Will it be the first one to be replaced?

I think you would be very lucky to find stock of that anywhere... The RZ1100 and RZ3100 were the old TOTL, the RZ3100 had a further upgrade to the RZ3400 - but I don't know how many of those were made - this was around the time that Onkyo got into financial strife...

I would assume the RZ1100 would be replaced by the RZ70 and RZ3400 by RZ90 (and the old Prepro RZ5100 may also get a replacement)

Unfortunately, the VSX moniker points to class A/B amplification. Sure wish it was SC-LX805.

I agree - but it's a new world in a new Onkyo with Voxx leading the marketing charge...

in other words .. who knows!

It would be nice having the choice with 2 models: one in class A/B and one in class D.
Both classes have their advantage.
And why not a mix A/B and D?

I'm hoping we find out in a weeks time - during CES - but no invitations or pre-announcement PR has been made.... :(

I named this software "ablative" (as tank armor) in these very forums and it seems to be exactly that: using the system to cancel its own undesired sounds and frequencies. I honestly think this is a game changer as it can deliver good EQ to very complicated rooms (I have family living in stone houses, it´s a nightmare to get good sound there). Hopefully it will permeate to other systems other than StormAudio. I guess the limitation is the DSP implemented in the device in question.

However, I do have a question about gear: do you guys have a particular set of ideal characteristics on a speaker that allows this new software to run best?

Hello Flavio. Will it be possible to test ART via PC while I am alive ? I've been reading since 2018 about Bass Control and we are still waiting for it (fully functional)…
I don't have children yet but for some strange reason I feel that they will enter college and I still won't be able to test it....

I am not Flavio, but how can he answer without knowing your lifespan? ;)

This is why it would be very welcome to Dirac's PC-platform multichannel live product.
The problem is still the decoding and outboarding of the signal, and that's not on Dirac's hands. :(

DTS and Dolby could include decoding on their PC programs, but that may anger AVR manufacturers as esentially, anyone could produce a multi-dac interference.

Would I love to see something like that from Apollon where you only had to plug a USB and have fun? You bet!

I see other uses, like multichannel audio tracks, not necessarily Dolby Atmos. Hopefully Dirac will release a PC version even if it's a much smaller segment.

They already have licenses for PC on the other systems, so I guess it shouldn´t be an issue for them.
