The AI bubble is an inflation of capital and egos, of people emboldened and outright horny over the prospect of millions of people’s livelihoods being automated away. It is a global event where we’ve realized how the global elite are just as stupid and ignorant as anybody you’d meet on the street…
 
In the meantime some begin to be scared when that "The emperor has no clothes!" moment will become real. Maybe sooner than expected. Another moronic bubble.
 
The frustration with me is that I can see plenty of useful and beneficial areas where money could be spent to better the lives of billions of people. Instead it is being poured into Ai, the next “big thing” for a small group of people who keep falling upwards.

Our society is in the thrall of dumb management, and functions as such. Every government, the top quarter of every org chart, features little Neros who, instead of battling the fire engulfing Rome, are sat in their palaces strumming an off-key version of “Wonderwall” on the lyre and grumbling about how the firefighters need to work harder, and maybe we could replace them with an LLM and a smart sprinkler system.
