Eversolo T8 Digital Transport!

Sonically, probably not (Pro’s Toslink output got a higher measured jitter than Pro Plus’ in Amir’s testing, but I don’t know if that’s even audible anyway); it just comes down to feature set.
I highly doubt jitter is audible in any decently designed digital system these days. Worrying about that is right up there with SINAD chasing lunacy

Agreed, it comes down to feature set in the end, as I suspected from beginning. Thanks again for your comments.

There is that large touchscreen as well!
I used the T8 to send a digital signal and attenuate it to the Sigbergs .
Best,
Keith

It’s a smart looking component, as long as you realise it won’t and can’t improve sound quality.

Strange comment since the T8's reputation is that it sounds much better than most streamers.

It certainly sounds better than a WIIM.

That reputation only exists amongst people who use - and/or trust people who use - sighted (and hence unreliable) listening comparisons.

The T8 has the same flat frequency response, inaudible distortion, and inaudible noise as any other competent streamer (Including the WIIM). @Purité Audio 's comment is 100% factual (unless you are replacing an exceptionally flawed streamer with it)

Ok, this made me curious: can anyone name a digital transport, available today, that is not transparent?
Perhaps this one. If your hearing is good - and you are using headphones in a quiet room.

Actually it is probably audibly bad even through speakers for many.

Almost as if it takes concerted effort to make something that bad.

Better than a Wiim? Do tell. Both are bit perfect, would love to see the measurement(s) that show T8 as being objectively better than Wiim

Not to mention also this alleged, "flagship," streamer from another, "highly reputed," streamer manufacturer:

Meanwhile they use tremendous noise-shaping to purposefully fuck with tune the sound:

Despite the shocking measurements in some areas - it is still audibly transparent.

(The ultrasonic noise is just that - hence inaudible, the "bad" jitter is still below audible levels.)

don't be overally relying solely on the limited measurements here or anywhere else.
I have access to AP and quite a number of audio measurement devices at work.
I'm a user of both Wiim Pro and Eversolo T8. Connecting to a decent DAC downstream, T8 sounds better than Wiim for sure. But how much better is very subjective and heavily depending on what devices you have down the chain.

Do tell what mechanism is behind this , if something anything sends identical spdiff streams to a DAC capable of handling small insignificant jitter and noise differences ( most DAC’s if’s it’s not from audio note ) and this DAC then produces identical analog outputs .

The result would just be physics breaking with implementation outside of audio :)

For sure it does not - unless you've set up some filters somewhere to create a difference, then the digital output from a Wiim is audibly identical to that from the the T8 - for all humans, all the time. If you are hearing a difference it is not in the sound reaching your ears, but is created in the wetware between them as a result of your perceptive bias mechanisms.

How about a blind listening test and let me know if you still hear a difference. And if sound changes depending upon devices you have “downstream”, has nothing to do with the T8, it is the devices downstream (that are poor measuring or broken if they result in a change in sound)

Well I guess you guys don't buy into different digital cables making a difference, let alone different digital delivery methods, including wifi vs ethernet etc.

There is another thread on the T8 where dozens of people hear differences (and have preferences) between the different outputs from the T8.

I have both a WIIM and a T8. The difference, at least with my DAC, is not subtle.

Buy hey I get it, you're scientists, not audiophiles.

If it wasn’t for scientists and engineers you would not have anything to play music on. You would be reduced to hitting a hollow log with a stick.
