Eversolo T8 Digital Transport!

The question is why T8 is presented here as the only one that can attenuate the digital signal, as this seem to be commonplace?!? Should we pay the 10x price for T8 (against Wiim Pro for example) just for the looks as Mr. Puritee (sponsor) suggests?
No, we should pay 8.3X (1.0X + 7.3X) the price to attach a WiiM Pro to a Luxsin X9 which provides an actual relay-controlled, analog volume attenuator (which lowers the noise floor with the volume, and mitigates the risk of randomly spiking to full unlike digital volume controls) as well as full stereo subwoofer/bass management AND also nets us ARC input (on the X9). ;)

I'd never buy a product like the Luxin X9 or Topping DX9 without being an intensive headphone user, as those all-in-ones get pretty hot and their longevity is questionable...

Okay, so please clarify: what precisely are you looking for that the market does not yet serve in a manner you are willing to buy?

A better working T8 or any Eversolo streamer used as a digital transport, which I already bought...

I think you'll get the most eyes on your issues from Eversolo itself on the Zidoo forums.

Isn't this thread called "Eversolo T8 Digital Transport!"? And it's the most popular (even the oficial @eversolo said some in here), even though it's full of mumbo jumbo advertising, burying the few real owner's issues/comments...
Even one of you guys said once that these products (T8 and Z10) are not intended for ASR users!?! Really? :) :) :)

You yourself have pointed out that you’ll get equally high objective performance from much less expensive competing products. From that point of view, yes, products like the WiiM streamers are more ASR-oriented than Eversolos, which are aimed more at people who have subjective perceptions of superior alleged performance there.

No, you got me all wrong! My own ears tell me that T8 sounds better (broken, subjective or whatever), thus my reason to try and make it better (with Eversolo's help, eventually).
Everything you got was my irony provoked by the "strategy/context" of this thread.
The only "science" in here is about anything else but the promoted T8... :)

It really can’t sound ‘better’ than any other competently designed streamer.

If that is the case, then you're simply reinforcing my point: pointing out the subjective performance superiority of the T8 is literally antithetical to the mission statement of ASR.

Very much emphasizing here that the way T8 is marketed is absolutely not intended for the ASR demographic.

Then what is this all about? Is it (masked) negative publicity? What is Mr. Puritee doing, with the support of a few ASR members?
"Hey, you all alien readers of ASR (not actual members!!!) should buy T8 and Z10 because they're pretty and expensive, not because they do an objective better job than the way less expensive gear dissected in here!" :) :) :)

I don’t know about that guy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@eversolo

For me, the "Tidal problem" is somehow solved. I gave Eversolo's suggestions another try and discovered that the delay setting (solution) has no effect on Tidal Connect! This extra "sampling rate switch latency" becomes effective only when using the Eversolo app! If they know it, maybe they won't admit it as their products are officially Tidal Connect certified...

Wiim and Node doesn't need pushing the music later in time but heck, starting glitch-less right is my priority! :P

So, to conclude, around 1500ms delay and solo app for Tidal seems stable. Don't know what other settings do affect Tidal Connect or not, but solo app is one of the reasons we buy their streamers right? :)

PS: Would "Eversolo Original sampling-rate audio engine" be the reason for all this, including the better sound?
@eversolo

Update: only the maximum delay of 3000ms helps the T8 properly handling the maximum resolution files (24bit/192khz Tidal) and I've also noticed that amplitude matters at the beginning of tracks! If they start "piano" (quietly), the hiccup and glitch chances are less...

Eversolo team should do something so that we, paying customers, don't have to give them 3 seconds of our lives with every track we play on their pretty streaming transports!

A personal view on what a premium streamer could/should be (I should say .... My wish list streamer that I personally would pay for )...

1) Stream without any hiccup, at full resolution (24b/192KHz) from [[ all ]] music services .. YES ... Apple music too (not Airplay),
2) Song to song : no meaningful delay (even when below DSP is enabled)
3) Support separate file access for playing own files (I prefer a dedicated USB4) .
4) Roon support
5) Digital in , dual digital out (sub woofer split) no need for any DAC... USB out / Optical out / AEB .
6) Clock source - good enough (most mid price DACs now comes with excellent clocks and being separated box you can get amazing sinad )
5) DSP: Sharc 2156X with high resolution equalizer and room correction. DSP SW package to provide estimated signal sinad degradation due to selected DSP settings (this should be a direct calculation of selected Fix/floating point operation in the path and the expected signal loss)
--> This in turn will enable streaming at full resolution even with DSP, and won't need to resample the data to a different data rate
--> DSP will also split for subwoofer
6) A Display port... I will put my own ~$100 10" display if I want. Remote SW is perfectly enough
7) Wifi is nice .. not necessary. Main interface to network is Ethernet

Anyone has something like this for ~$1500 ?

Nothing about French fries? You're off topic then... :P
This is about T8, beautiful VU meters, impressive linear power supply and so on...!!!

I even got a new name for the thing - The forEversolo Black Beauty, as it will never get a Z10 to match up... :) :) :)

What do you say, Keith? Is this a good marketing proposition? Come and see the Black Beauty and it will blink at you! Hiccup means that it likes you! :)

T8 and Z10 play Quboz perfectly here, Tidal though is problematic across ultimate devices, streamers and active loudspeakers.
Keith

Tidal works fine when ive trialled it and used it on other equipment at my other dealers. I’ve trialled all the major streaming services and Apple Music gave me the best user experience in terms of UI, curation, playlists and discovery together with automatic intergration with Shazam and BandsinTown. Meta data is also improving. They don’t make HiFi intergration easy though. Qubuz has the weakest UI I’ve seen so I feel I would need additional cost of Roon to give me a more Apple like user experience.

Eversolo has a new update with a Christmas theme.

Unfortunately, Airplay 2 is still not provided.
Here is a$400 Arylics streamer that has Airplay 2.

It is hard to find streamers with old Airplay 1.

Those of us the send Christmas music to multiple must seek out much more affordable solutions.
So, my 2 x T8s will not be used this Christmas.
The Raspberry Pi5/P2AES Hat and Shairport Sync (free) will be deployed.
