Eversolo T8 Digital Transport!

I was thinking about treating myself to an upgrade purchasing a T8. I would feed it to the DAC in my Parasound P6 via USB.
I started to google around for issues and found some things I thought would have been taken care of in beta testing.

Common Eversolo T8 issues include a low-frequency hum from the unit, problems with the I2S output when connected to certain DACs, and audio distortion or noise during sample rate changes, especially over the USB connection. Some users also report DSD-related noise, Wi-Fi connectivity hiccups, and performance issues with the built-in EDRC room correction system.

I wanted to see if anyone here that may have the unit have experienced any issues.

Thanks

Mine definitely doesn’t hum, no idea about IIS because it is audiophile nonsense at its finest, no issue with sample rate changes, DSD flawed thirty years ago flawed now, so would never use that, no problem with wi-fi ( which if there any would almost certainly down to the individual's network .
Haven’t tried the internal room correction would always advise REW and a microphone.

Yea, i was going to also add a MiniDSP Flex so was not worried about the EQ. Just started to second guess this decision when i saw USB issues, since thats how I would connect to the P6. I have time, not planning on pulling the trigger until January. Maybe I will just give it a go and see what pans out. . .

I have no issue here.
I prefer the I2S connection when compared to the USB to the Topping D900 DAC.

Good luck finding one. They were out of stock where ever I have looked.

So you basically didn't experience anything. You did turn it on, though. :D

No, still no hum that could be because of the very expensive isolation device I am using.

Any other evidence that it doesn’t hum, well my wife was in the kitchen and she couldn’t hear it.

My thoughts exactly, owning A8 but preferring other separate DACs and being heavily attracted by T8's more stylish appearance... :)

Mine didn't strike me with any transformer hum but S/PDIF is way more "imprecise" than USB...

It can be a plus not to hear a low frequency hum from the unit from a couple of meters away....then the music drowns out everything anyway.

It’s also a plus not to hear a low frequency hum when there isn’t one.

If there is hum, it could be a ground loop or DC.
I’d prefer a SOA switched power supply, but folks love heavy.

BTW, no hum here.

Better this way, it's a vegetable while it lasts, as they used to say.

PS But that doesn't mean the noise won't surface in a little while; in some cases, it has. So keep your ears alert!

This was the case for me. I had the low frequency hum; on a whim, I purchased an iFi DC Blocker+ and installed it, and it significantly cut the hum down. Where I could hear it from 2 feet away with no music playing prior, I needed to place my ear within inches of the enclosure to hear the hum after.

I think I am going to do this in January and maybe upgrade to the new dac later so I would skip the dac in the P6 eventually.
