Eversolo S/PDIF output problem

Hi there,

I have DMP-A8 and now testing T8 (demo unit from my dealer), as digital streaming transports, feeding external DACs and I'm experiencing the following issue with both devices on S/PDIF (coaxial and optical) outputs:

- No track is playing exactly from the beginning, 1 or 2 seconds are missing and one of the DACs (RME ADI-2) has a glitch/clipping noise when the music starts or ends. It doesn't matter if I'm skipping tracks or let them play. The other external DAC is Chord Qutest...

USB or analog outputs from DMP-A8 works flawlessly and both Eversolo units have the latest firmware versions.

I've tried every possible setting from the menu, including the highest delay value (3000ms) with no result...

Is there anyone else who tried S/PDIF output on any other Eversolo DMP and has a clue on the matter?

Thanks!

PS: I also have Bluesound Node and Wiim Pro streamers that have no issues on S/PDIF with the same DACs and the same cables!

Update:

Listening T8 all this time, I've noticed that USB out has also the issue but in smaller amount. It seems that higher resolution files from Tidal (like 24bit/96khz-192khz) are more prone to this imprecise/unstable start...

One thing I forgot to mention is that everything I wrote in my first post involved "Tidal Connect" only. Switching to Eversolo app almost solved the problem but not entirely (maybe 95%).

A big positive though is the sound quality against the other, way cheaper streamers in my possession. Wiim's "fade out" option being the only thing I miss when skipping tracks... :)

Cheers!

For me, the "Tidal problem" is somehow solved. I gave Eversolo's suggestions another try and discovered that the delay setting (solution) has no effect on Tidal Connect! This extra "sampling rate switch latency" becomes effective only when using the Eversolo app! If they know it, maybe they won't admit it as their products are officially Tidal Connect certified...

Wiim and Node doesn't need pushing the music later in time but heck, starting glitch-less right is my priority! :P

So, to conclude, around 1500ms delay and solo app for Tidal seems stable. Don't know what other settings do affect Tidal Connect or not, but solo app is one of the reasons we buy their streamers right? :)

PS: Would "Eversolo Original sampling-rate audio engine" be the reason for all this, including the better sound?

Update: only the maximum delay of 3000ms helps the T8 properly handling the maximum resolution files (24bit/192khz Tidal) and I've also noticed that amplitude matters at the beginning of tracks! If they start "piano" (quietly), the hiccup and glitch chances are less...

Eversolo team should do something so that we, paying customers, don't have to give them 3 seconds of our lives with every track we play on their pretty streaming transports!
