Eversolo DMP-A6 USB output to DAC-Z8?

I've had a DAC-Z8 for many months and a few weeks ago picked up a used DMP-A6. I thought the DMP-A6 was supposed to pass audio through the USB output, but I can't get it to work; is this only available when using the internal player of the A6? If so, that kind of defeats the purpose of me having this thing.

I play all of my digital files using Foobar2000, and don't want to mess with networking or any other BS to play my files.

Then, TBH, you didn't need an A6 from the beginning... it makes no sense.
See what you are doing at the moment:

1. you play on a PC / laptop with foobar2000...
2. go through the A6
3. use its USB out (using nothing on the A6, except its connectors... if this was ever possible, in any case...)

The real easy thing is: play on your PC / laptop (which is, supposedly, connected via USB to the Z8) with foobar2000, and "you're good to go" (r).

Actually, I really fail to understand why people keep buying streamers with DACs if, in the end, they are not using ANY of their functionalities, like in this case, so... what's the point??? (I'm curious, BTW)
