Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer Review

I'm waiting for my unit to arrive - looks like it will be June. My integrated amp has XLR inputs and pre-out which I use to feed my sub-woofer. I intend to upgrade to a class D, prob Hypex Nilai soon and was hoping to use the Eversolo as my pre-amp. The manual specifications, under analogue output says "XLR (balanced) + RCA (pre-output)". If that is not the case then I will have to buy a pre-amp. Considering Schiit Freya S, or Topping Pre90. Any others to consider in that price bracket?

Does the future firmware update resolve this problem?

Obviously I read the post - the question remains: is the manual correct, or is this a matter that needs to be remedied? If so, is the hybrid option intended to provide simultaneous pre-out over RCA and XLR?

Well so far my story is not very good. As mentioned up there, I ordered a regular DMP-A6 from Futeko who shipped it out on time, as promised, via FEDEX. However, for some reason it is not clearing customs on my end so I won't receive the package today and there is no scheduled delivery date at this time.

THEN...I also ordered a Master version of the product and like Futeko, Audiophonics, shipped my unit out on time and they used UPS. UPS shows the unit will arrive by 215P ET today, yet, still does not show that it is out for delivery. I called UPS International and they put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back to tell me that it was LOST IN TRANSIT IN FRANCE! So not only will I not receive it today, but now I probably have to wait for Audiophonics to file a claim and may never receive a Master version since it is a limited edition. This is unbelievable.

Nothing to do with Eversolo. Probably nothing to do with the dealers. But man....two dealer, two shipping companies and BOTH are frigged up. Actually, since Eversolo is monitoring this thread - THIS is why I wanted it drop shipped to my house and not routed through the dealers then back to me. THIS is exactly why. What PITA. ughhh.

Some of the features and improvements came from feedback from some people in this community, those who received the device first. Thank you.
The following is the changes list of its updates, which should be pushed within a few days.

system
1. SSD support up to 4TB
2. Fixed the issue of individual DSD audio file can not playback.
3. Fixed the volume passthrough mode can not be saved while restart device
4. delete the failed files while files copy failures,
5. File manager added .m3u file playback
6. Fix the issue of clock screensavers not displaying in 24-hour format
7. Optimize VU meter display
8. Added a option for XLR/RC hybrid output
9. Fix the issue of occasional lost 200ms at start playback


CD
1. Optimize CD album information scrape
2. Added manually add album cover for CD Ripper
3. Adde writing ID3 metadata for CD Ripper
4. Optimize information editing function for CD Ripper
5. Fix the issue of Ripper's default serial number is wrong.


Music Library
1. Add track information edit function
2. Add artist edit and manual avatar replacement function
3. Add album edit and manual album cover replacement function
4. Long titles will have a moving effect at playback interface
5. Optimize the display of playlist titles
6. Optimize artist details to display album interface by default
7. Added dynamic display function of navigation bar
8. Added custom the menu item in library settings.
9. Added show the album images at UPnP folder list
10. Fix the issue of incorrect shows the album images while playplack in UPnP
11. Optimized the issue of slow loading of album images in the playback interface

Settings
1. Added volume limit option
2. Added some default startup volume settings
3. Optimize some interface

Before the official release of DMP-A6, we had developed it for three years and released over a hundred versions internally. Some of you should have noticed that it handles a lot of details and has a very high level of completion.
It is about system development and optimization, audio decoding, hardware optimization, streaming media development and authentication, APP development and iteration, and continuous improvement of user experience.
It really consumes a lot of our cost investment and energy. But this is just the beginning, and the continuous improvement of user experience is our final goal.

Some other news:
Some people have feedback that they need a remote control, so we will release a Bluetooth remote control, which is an optional option and requires additional purchase.

And many people are still concerned about the purchase issue. Just a few hours ago, Our Amazon US store replenished its second batch of inventory, but it quickly sold out again. The third batch of inventory replenishment should be around June 10th. This product has received more attention than we imagined. So, please forgive that it requires a production process.

Still available through Futeko as a preorder for $861USD. The looney looks to be at $1.35CAD for every $1USD so your number looks slightly inflated after forex, but not much. I think you're $1,163CAD which is roughly $861USD. Where are you seeing the $2kCAD prices? Just curious.

On the other hand, the two places I ordered from specifically called these units a "preorder" and its not unusual for a discount to be offered when someone preorders. So perhaps Eversolo plans to increase the price now that its launched and preorders get filled.

Lots of awesome updates! @mirror88, can you confirm whether or not a digital input can be output via digital output? e.g. Input 24/96 SPDIF coax input, then out 24/96 HDMI Audio output? Or in via USB and back out over HDMI Audio? Is the HDMI Audio only for apps running on the DMP-A6 or can I stream via Roon to it and output using HDMI? I guess I just want clarification on what the HDMI Audio can output and from what inputs?

Oh its coming from GB. Trust me, I tried to get mine drop-shipped to me instead of it being shipped to GB then to me in NY and that was a no-go. I was told to expect mine by Thurs/Friday but I don't see that as all that likely - more like early next week. Fedex and the broker are welcome to surprise me.

That sucks about your customs issue, man. I'm sorry to hear about that. Mine arrived much sooner than anticipated and I didn't bother to read the customs document that was affixed to the box. Hopefully you get some resolution soon.

It can only output a digital input via it's analogue output(s)
The HDMI output supports DSD64 native multichannel and 192k PCM multichannel raw.
Although the manual doesn't specifically state it, I would assume it would allow streamed content to be output via HDMI.

What a shame. But not the end of the world. I'm not expecting it to do Roon-like DSP stuff but it would be cool to use it to switch some digital sources. I'm just surprised as I wouldn't think there would be license or CP issues if it just acts as a switcher/repeater. Oh well...

That would be pretty cool, although it's DAC performance is right up there, so you wouldn't be losing out on too much using the internal DAC, unless you needed/wanted to EQ downstream of this of course (as I would).

Well at least UPS found my Master version - looks like its made three stops in France and is now in Koeln, Germany! WTF. At least it is no longer "lost in transit"....yet.

I'm hoping Fedex comes through by Monday on the regular unit. All in all maybe its for the best as it seems like the delayed deliveries could align nicely with the release of the new firmware.

All APPs and connect can be made through all digital and analog outputs. And all digital inputs can only be made through analog outputs,they router via XMOS and DAC
