Welcome to ASR. Download mConnect app and try it. If Qobuz plays without any delays with mConnect app, then the problem is the EverSolo app.
Many thanks, tried mConnect as suggested and the results are great. Switching between tracks via the mConnect app takes around 1 to 2 secs max (can tell based on the music track status). There is a slight delay for the change of track to be streamed via Dlna to the DMP-A6 but this is not as bad as the actual issue of playing direct via the DMP-A6 using its native app.

Narrowing the issue down this way seems to suggest an issue with the native app, unsure on how to take it from here really.

At least I now have a workaround until a permanent fix!

I have been listening to my standard edition A6, along with a completely new suite of hardware, long enough to form some opinions. My comments are subjective; not based on level matched double blind testing, but I will try not to stray into wine tasting territory - eg: this is a naive, but enthusiastic dac, with a full-bodied soundstage; hints of lavender and tobacco in the treble and lingering sour overtones on the bass notes...

i have the A6 XLR out connected to the Schiit Freya S in volume pass through mode, with Freya balanced out to my Hypex Nilai 500 stereo to passive speakers and single ended out to a subwoofer plate amp. Subjective impression: much more clarity and detail than any of my previous dac/Raspberry Pi to PS Audio GCC-100 amp combos. Playing CDs and SACDs from my Denon 2910 via analogue RCA to Nilai is slightly less satisfying; the older Denon internal dac may be responsible for perceived poorer quality. I have connected the DMP A6 directly to the Nilai balanced input. I can't perceive any difference between Eversolo as preamp direct to Nilai amp, or Eversolo to Freya S to Nilai. I will keep the Schiit in the system to handle my analogue inputs and for the useful Schiit remote volume control. I have been streaming Qobuz.. Works great - sound quality equals local flac files. The only thing I have noticed is stuttering when streaming very hi res (192khz) files - likely related to my poor internet speed. I am very happy with this set up, probably my end game electronics. Next up: new drivers and cross-overs for my home built speakers.

Thanks for the quick review, HoweSound. I like your setup. Glad to know the A6 and Freya S are a good match.

Will the USB 3 port read a hard drive formatted as EXT4 ? My existing music collection is on a Linux partition. I am curious if I can plug that drive into the A6’s USB port and copy the files from it to the m.2 drive that I will install?

Anyone know if there is a way to cast the DMP-A6 to a TV via Chrome-cast (my Sony has built in) ?
Would be cool to see on the big screen...

There's no way to cast from the DMP-A6 directIy to a tv screen. I've done this with Airplay by mirroring the Eversolo app to my TV with Airplay 2 built in, and the visual results weren't great. The graphics and album art translated were grainy resolution and of course with lots of latency.

I figure that would be the case since I get blurry images just using the cast feature on the app.
Needs to go directly from A6 to TV.
Maybe the internal resolution of the A6 is low ?

@mirror88 seems to be done with us now. He's not posting firmware update changes or responding to many questions at all. So it goes with product launches....the manuf are our buddies when hyping the launch, then go cold once the launch is over (or they have new inventory to sell....ala Hobie at Monoprice).
I hope they aren't done. Their interaction here and the fast release of firmware updates in the beginning was part of what gave me some assurance to pull the trigger and become an early adopter of the DMP-A6. It would be good if they could maintain some communication on forthcoming firmware updates and some bug fixes and feature requests that are in the works. Otherwise, we're somewhat in the dark since the roon cert update.

There will soon be a new firmware that integrates RP API and Internet Radio

A new iPad Controller is about to be released.

The integrated Amazon music API is also being certified.

Additionally, we are currently integrating the Deezer API

Using the control APP of Android will result in better resolution, which is dependent on the hard decode of IOS. We will use FFMPEG for IOS in the future

Thanks mirror, that's nice to hear, hopefully there's a round of bug fixes as well!

Hello Everyone,

I am new to Audio Science Review, but I must mention how much I appreciate the efforts taken by members of the community to provide the much needed info that we all seek in the audio world. The depth of technical awareness is indeed immense and commendable.

Having said that, I have just got the "Ever Solo DMP-A6 Master Edition Streaming DAC" delivered a few days ago. I bought it based on the positive feedback from various YouTube reviewers out there and also taking into consideration the various awards that it has received until date.

Having it all hooked up to Qobuz for the last few days , I must say that am quite disappointed with the functioning of the control app from my IOS device. What I have noticed is that during the playback of music via "Qobuz" there is a 5 to 6 seconds of delay when I select a track that needs to be played next. This is a lot time between tracks and gets frustrating over a period of time.

I also have a Blue sound Node X and this doesn't have any issues switching between tracks.

It is annoying because for the price and the attention the device has received so far across the globe, the device should at least be able to play the tracks without any delay!

I did reach out to the support team and received the below response which doesn't make sense ,

Subject: Re: Delay between tracks in Qobuz

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Ever solo!

Regarding the issue, we have reported to our engineers, and it's said that the short delay is for downloading music.

Regards,
Ever solo

Any thoughts or ideas on this issue? , has anyone else experienced this behaviour ? (The DMP-A6 is plugged in via an ethernet cable)
Which country are you in, I think it depends on the CDN of the API service

Merci @mirror88 pour les réponses. Y aura-t-il d'autres améliorations à Roon Ready telles que des résolutions plus élevées ou un contrôle d'entrée/sortie ?

Thanks @mirror88 for replies. Will there be any more improvements to Roon Ready such as higher resolutions or input/output control?

@multisport, what do you mean by better control of inputs and outputs on Roon with the DMP? I do not know or do not see, thanks for the answer. Otherwise the DMP is stable on Roon and works well with the software I find.

For those who want a neutral sound, like me, the DMP is a good streamer.
Concerning depth, it is the most difficult element to obtain, sought after in classical music because it is the distance that separates the most distant instruments from the listener, the more the staggering of the sound planes is marked, the better will be the reproduction of the musical message. I haven't listened to enough pieces with large orchestral formations. Otherwise, the DMP offers in my opinion a wide soundstage with very good channel separation, which will satisfy users in a lot of musical styles. Depth is often the most difficult to obtain in Hi-Fi and also to feel....
@audioscience Enthusisast, small complement on the opinions of a person on the quality of the DMP Dac compared to the notion of depth too, it compares with a fairly high-end Chord Hugo 2 Dac (2600 euros), underlines the transparency, if bad recording with the DMP the restitution will be bad, compared to Hugo less good estimated depth:
"I've listened with Hugo2 as a coax DAC, I found the sound bright and sibilant on bad recordings, so it won't smooth things out sharper ssss so I was used to what I was listening to before the arrival of the streamer and which sent Bluetooth from the Qobuz app directly to my DAC Hugo2. It's probably not the fault of the streamers because I recently tried another power conditioner which brightened things up."
"The internal DMP dac on the Master Edition further reduces background noise showing me crisper detail while sounding less sibilant compared to Coax out to Hugo2. So overall there's good value on this product. But one would suspect that the sound may not be as deep as Hugo2, but not a decisive factor. It is more important that the internal DAC sounds cleaner and less sibilant. I think the internal DAC is the winner when streaming. Also listen with great RCA cables, but the specs show that Xlr is the way to go. Might invest on some big ones one day."

My experience thus far has beven similar to your observation. I have posted an issue in the Eversolo site forum since June 27, and not much even as an acknowledgement has been made from Eversolo. No response. My issue is on the Song slider in the native app. In the native app both Tidal and Qobuz, the song slider is pretty much useless, making fast forward and rewind to certain parts of the track impossible. Not the case for side loaded app of Qobuz, but it would be impractical to be side Loading apk every time a New version becomes available. Defeats the purpose of the native app.

@mirror88, hope this could be given some attention too.

Is there a "proper" way of reporting issues with the A6? Like having a ticketing system so you know that your issue is being attended.

Seems to be a common issue with many manufacturers. Once a device is out there and has some hype going they are done with it.

I wouldn't want a Android based streamer anyway.

For roon there are always Raspberry pi devices with various software streamers.

For Apple OS users, there are Auralic streamers, more expensive, as I am Android, I turned to Rose and bought Eversolo. If I had had Iphone or Ipad, I would have bought Auralic, I think.
