Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer Review

As owner of the MKI of the A6 ME for more than a year, I wonder how somebody can have so much difficulty with the working of the device.

I didn't have any trouble using it. It needed to be rebooted to trigger a two-factor authentication code from Apple to sign in to the internal Apple Music app, that's not me having difficulty finding the correct pathway to input the correct commands, that's the device not responding correctly to input. I didn't have difficulty using room correction with optical input, it's just not possible. I didn't have any difficulty getting the VU meters to display, they just don't work on anything but the internal player.

I know it’s been said multiple times in this thread but what a brilliant device this is. I’ve just picked up an immaculate gen 1 for very little and everything just works so well. A very well thought out and enjoyable product. It is the first device in a while that reminds me of the innovative and exciting days in hifi.

Its white, you can change brightness but not color.

Just got the dmp-A6, and test it.
As streamer it’s wonderful very intuitive and easy to use, for the price is hard to beat. Well done Eversolo.
In terms of sound quality for me an to my ears and on my system (benchmark la4 and rb-1582 mkII) it’s step down compare to a very old pci card lynx L22.(with audirvana).
I use it with volume passthrough mode 5,2v output with the xlr and I as « afraid » to turn up the volume up on my preamp because my amp accept only 3v but at the same sound level my L22 sound much louder, cleaner.(the level output is only +4dbu)
On the dmp-a6 the sound is lack of depth, the separation of instruments isn’t clean, i found the sound is flat, it’s not bad it’s lifeless..
I think as streamer dac is very good value, if you have no source and dac.
It will be better to use it with an external dac and why pay more for a little computer.

I find this fascinating. I own a Lynx L22 and disregarded it as it is old and PCI. But I never thought it sounded bad. Probably a lot of my music was mixed on it or similar Lynx products.

Isn't that really the only measurement that matters in the end? How the design and other measurements get us there is sort.of irrelevant, isn't it?

Wat? Can you explain better what you exactly do not see, what you expect to see, what measurement you are referring to, and especially what you mean by "the design and measurements are irrelevant for us to get there"... especially the last one, because IMHO, design (and the tech behind it) are the only means to actually GET there...
