Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer Review

I have had the DMP -A6 for over a year with zero issues, all of a sudden a few weeks ago the drop outs started.

The A6 is hardwired to a BT Wifi Extender disc in my office and it feeds my Qutest DAC, so the A6 is only used as the Streamer.I often check the Wifi signal strength to my office and it always shows as strong or very strong.

So for months no issues at all, then the drop outs start. Sometimes it may onle be 1 per night say and on other occasions a lot more

I use Roon and when the drop out occurs the A6 just drops of my list of audio devices for some reason. Sometimes it literally drops off for seconds then it reappears in Roon again. I just have to hit play again to restart the music. At first I assumed it was just another Roon issue as there have been a few. However I then switched to using the Eversolo app to stream TIdal to eliminate Roon. The issues still occur, so it just stops playing.

I am no expert but I assume this is an issue with my BT wifi Extnder occasionaly losing a signal?? as it also happens like I say when I use Tidal from the Eversolo app.
My previous streamer had no dropouts over a 2 year period so I am keen to try and resolve this as I love the front end display of the A6.

I have tried all of the usual, unplughing router, wifi disc and all of the gear. I have also factory reset the A6, but the problem still occurs.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Yeah it probably is. Its frustrating as I have tried so hard over the years to get my Network/Internet as good as I possibly can.
The Eversolo has been literally flawless until a few weeks ago. I have been advised to give it a static IP address on the Zidoo forum. I dont pretend to know what difference that will make but I may try it if the problem persists.

What is exactly a BT Wifi extender...? I hope it is not a Bluetooth device, as that would double the wireless problems, instead of solving them...

Its not a bluetooth device.
It is a BT Disc that acts as a Wifi Extender. It is plugged into the mains and it connected to my A6 with an Ethernet cable.

In this case there is no abbreviation though as the company is now BT, it’s not British Telecom anymore . The younger generation would not know who British Telecom were

Looking for some advice. I just got my A6 today. Very cool. I bought an SSD card so I can put a bunch of old FLAC files that I have stored on Google Drive. What’s the best way to transfer them to the Eversolo? It’s not really clear to me. Is there a way to send them wirelessly or do I need to move them to a physical drive and connect via USB?

I know there's a slot for a SSD drive, and it looks like it supports connecting USB storage, although I don't know if that's only to download and copy files to an internal drive, or if you can play files off of an external USB drive...

I use a USB hub, right? So, I plug in my external hard drive or a flash drive, and then I just copy and paste stuff onto the SSD. Super easy and quick.

I use Fast Linear. You can see the measurements for the different filters in the review at the top of the thread and make an informed decision.

With china tariffs coming, i figure if i ever wanted one, i better get one...do you think these will go up in price with china tariffs?
one other question...if i plan on using with my own DAC, is there any reason to buy an a6 master edition or an a8?

No difference in sound quality between any of the Eversolo models as they are all audibly transparent, Amir has reviewed/measured both the A6 and A8 .

link? i remember awhile back ago someone started making one but it had limited functionality? did manufacturer ever make an interface or was the "homegrown" ever enhanced for more full functionality? That has always been main reason i haven't bought one...i want web browser functionality. I suppose i could get by with windows functionality if they had a full function windows app? I just rarely use a phone (old eyes and big fingers) and would prefer desktop functionality and no, i don't want to run an android emulator on windows.
