Very disppointing given the functionality of the Wiims and Bluenodes and nothing to tempt me to trade up from the std. generation 1 (like the trigger though and the silver finish)

Actually, I am not disappointed at all.

I would have been if there would actually be anything tempting me to trade up from generation 1 .

So far so good for me with generation 1 .

Eversolo's website seems to be down. Is anyone else encountering this or could it be just my browser? Wanted to see what they have posted for the DMP-A6 Gen 2 thus far.

EDIT (1/11/2024): It looks like Eversolo's website is back up today, Saturday, January 11, 2024. But a word of caution, when I first clicked on my Eversolo Bookmark, it led me to a red screen which blocked me from entering a risky/dangerous website (probably from a residual webpage left over after I tried to access the Eversolo site when it was down/hacked).

I have not tried cue files, but SACD .iso is my main use and it works FLAWLESSLY in 2/6 channels. The internal library search an index disks and tracks without problems.
Is it possible to play SACD .iso files from UPNP server, for example Servioo on PC ?
Foobar 2000 plays nice SACD .iso from UPNP

Many new models announced, but I'm still thinking - is it worth to get that A6 for 400€? I guess at that price there's not so many options?

A couple of questions for Eversolo users - I am awaiting delivery of an A10 but I don’t think my questions are model specific and there is a lot of Eversolo expertise here!

1. Has anyone come up with a good way to display the ‘now playing’ info on a TV? I know the Eversolo units don’t offer HDMI out for an image so this needs to be done somehow via the Eversolo app. I am looking into whether that app can be sideloaded onto a fire tv stick or similar, but perhaps there is another way?

2. Can anyone give some feedback on how well the Eversolo internal library function works with a modest sized library of music stored on the network? It looks like Eversolo have been improving the app and library function over time, so I am wondering how well it works now (speed of browsing, layout, etc). I am hoping not to have to run a upnp server on my network and to just use the Eversolo unit, but I don’t know if the Eversolo will be up to that.

3. Can anyone compare the internal library function of the Eversolo and Wiim units? I currently have Sonos units in a couple of other rooms I will be looking to replace and these will probably either be Wiim Ultra’s or second hand DMP A6s. I am leaning toward the latter even though it will be more costly, but it depends on how well the internal library function works or if I have to end up running a server.

Thanks in advance for thoughts!!

2. I have my library on a Synology NAS unit. I access my content through SMB. No UPnP server. My library is almost 28k tracks 99% FLAC files and almost 1TB in size. It works just fine. Right now I am temporarily accessing with Wi-Fi and no issues. Hardwired is best but almost no difference in practice. It feels snappy and stable. Be aware the library is cached in chunks, so for example if you are browsing artists alphabetically, it will load a list of the first few letters, and you have to scroll down down for next batch in the alphabet and so on.

3. Not sure if I can answer this one but I own a WiiM Pro and I was never a fan of it's local library management. It works, I guess but the one on Eversolo works way better and looks much better than the one from WiiM in my opinion. Besides, back then it didn't seem to work with SMB, not sure what is the current status.

Yllanos - thanks for the reply, I am encouraged to hear you think the Eversolo library works well. I guess a bit of caching of chunks is okay provided it moves along quickly.

Is there a point to search for ME instead of regular A6? Approx ~300€ more expensive.

New member, but long term browser - this forum has been an excellent resource when putting together a new setup; thanks all!

Now for the query; I've been running the A6 (into a NAD C 3050, RCA connection) with Volume Passthrough Mode set 'On' - this has been fine for the couple of days I've had this set up, but tonight when playing Radiohead's 'Everything in it's Right Place' it was noticeably distorting through the speakers (particularly that fifth note of the keyboard intro) - it's briefly an extremely hot signal.

Naturally I tried turning off the 'Volume Passthrough Mode' and just running it slightly backed off on the A6 volume, but even at full volume, the output is about half of what it was when the passthrough mode was enabled - I'm reticent to give up on Passthrough mode, both for convenience and because without it, I have to drive the amp that much harder to even get close to the 'Passthough' volume level.

Is there any way to 'back off' the Passthrough mode at all? I would have expected full volume in 'Normal' mode would have equated to that of 'Passthrough', but it's significantly different.

Thanks in advance!

You haven’t set volume limits on the RCA output? Twice the output on XLR of course.

@Purité Audio
Keith, he's saying that with volume bypass set to OFF, and then turning the volume wheel to the max, the volume heard is way too low, compared to what it was with the volume bypass ON. (the pre and the amp are the same, as well as their volume level, of course)

TBH I would expect that volume bypass ON would lead to an output level equal to the volume obtained turning it up to 0dB with volume bypass OFF (wouldn't it?)... it appears not to be the case, though.

If I remember correctly, after EQ was applied to software, the max output was attenuated some 5 or 6 dB? to provide headroom for EQing?
If so, why it would affect only regulated volume and not bypassed volume: who knows?
