Actually surprised with the results of fir filters in A8.it is fast and easy. I only applied fir 20 to 400 hz.It is really great. The bass is punchy now without boom.I used umik1 and 90 deg calibration file. Thanks eversolo. A small suggestion would be it would be great if atleast 3 position instead of only one position. Then it can cover whole sofa. Could be something to consider for next improvement.

How can I set a hard limit of 16/44.1 on the S/PDIF output? I have an A8 but the settings should be the same, though I can only select max sample rate of 96 or 192KHz.

To me. it looks like "that" MAX is the maximum you can upsample to... you should:
a) not upsample (you should have nothing below 16/44.1)
b) eventually DOWNsample to 16/44.1

Does anyone know please whether Zidoo messed around with the volume levels on 1.3.80-update mentioned above? I have just set up my DMP6 in a different location in the same room and the volume is about 2/3rds what is was. Just before I moved it I noticed the DMP6 going through an update.

To be specific I moved it form the corner (the player and the amp) to the middle of the room on a new table. So it is in the same room, with the speakers in the same place (even my partner - not usually observant when it comes to hi-fi noticed the lack of volume).
Thanks Scoobz

Where was it, and were is it NOW, seated?
Using the same input?
using the same output?
Using the same power amp?
And on and on, to all the components in your audio chain...

All the same, see above, amended my original post for clarity. Thanks Scoobz

Hmm, if you are on the same input / output, then... did you have to do a factory reset or something after the update? That could be...
One more thing... if you are using an external source, now there is this new feature "auto detect input", that kicks in, and maybe it has a lower default volume, until you "adjust" it...
Just wandering wild here...

I have the maximum set to -13db as the streamer goes straight to a power amp. With regards to the factory re-set I am not sure, but whilst the player still lets you take the volume up to -13db the volume is about 2/3 what it was - perhaps even lower. Tried it with a CD player and it performs like the Streamer - i.e. the volume is a lot lower at the same -13db max reading I have

Ps does it prompt you about the factory reset as part of the update process and if it did and I unintentionally hit it surely it would impact the maximum volume level I previously set and remove it (not unless it leaves that intact for obvious reasons and changes everything else) ?

Check if your dsp is On? It will reduce 5 db as default.

Does anyone know if using a USB-A to 3.5mm wire might allow the USB OTG jack to act as a trigger to turn on an associated amplifier? I know it's not 12 V but curious if anyone's tried it or knows.

The trick is to enquire about the trigger sensitivity from the power amp manufacturer. If above 5v then you are out of luck, unfortunately.

@mirror88 Hello, please tell me why the lower frequencies on the optical output were removed from the firmware? Now only 96 kHz and 192 kHz are available. But before, you could choose a lower frequency.

That's a MAX, meaning that it will TOP at 96kHz, but will still output 44.1, 48, 88.2, if those are the sample rates of the files / streams you are playing...

Just bought & received a DMP6ME off Amazon Prime, NIB. Digital outs are making popping & crackling sounds. So, defaulted to RCA out. Also, the gain is about 10 dbs lower than usual.

Edit: I figured the gain out via the sub-menu in the app. Turned the 15 band EQ on & boosted all frequencies to 9.5. Also, boosted the gain from -5.0 to -4.5.

So, just need to figure out the issue with the digital inputs.

Eversolo’s software is extremely detailed. I’m impressed. So much so, I’m now curious of their flagship amp (F10) & preamp-streamer (A10).

Reading another thread, provoked the thought of incorporating DIRAC into my system and what that would look like. Currently using a DMP-A6 to an external DAC (Ares II). What would you say is the simplest way to incorporate DIRAC into the system?
Thanks Folks

Replace the Ares II with a miniDSP 2x4HD or miniDSP Flex.

Alternatively, keep the Ares and insert a miniDSP Flex Digital between it and the Eversolo.

I have the same problem with the digital output (popping and crackling). I haven't found a solution yet, did you?
