I hope the ‘hype’ won’t backfire on Eversolo, purchased and then many disappointed that they were no better than any other transparent streamer/dac.

I was ready to be blamed my A8 is overshooting....but 30K streamer...well :)
If You are really, really, interested into digging this rabbit hole 30K is only to start with ...

Besides: A8 would have been on top of the list if it had been into market when I purchased the A6, but now the RME ADI fits into the gap perfectly.

When Eversolo brought out the A8, they listened carefully enough to A6 users on their forum: below 2000 euros, if possible AKM DAC, HDMI ARC, more connectivity, better preamplifier. The A8, like the A6 in its segment, has a favourable price/feature/sound quality ratio. If you look at the quality of the DAC itself, as Keith says, if you use it with Roon, apart from the absence of a screen, and it's low cost, it's a UFO, minimum money and not bad at all.

Hi, PEQ on a6 can be used when the a6 is connected to an external dac and I use a6 as endpoint of roon?
Thank you

Keith, that's what I've found, I've sent my A6 for RCA connection repair, I've connected my laptop with core I7 processor to the Gustard with Roon, it's not bad. You say that Wim pro is a good device, otherwise A8 is a nice device I think, with lots of features.
Re: your comment about returning your unit for repair; my new A6 also has a bad RCA connection. The positive jack is flaky; sometimes the right channel cuts out completely, sometimes it's scratchy, sometimes it's fine. I can usually make it work by jiggling the cable or pulling the connector out partway, but this isn't acceptable for a new device. I tried several different RCA cables. I like the A6 but I'm going to return this one to Amazon and maybe get another one later.

Hi,

As I recall, there has always been a slight flutter on this plug, which has been exacerbated by successive disconnections as I'm adept at trying out different cables. So, return your A6, if you feel a fault. I bought the A6 from the very beginning, so it's only been running a few months.

Impressive improvement.

I notice it very easily on my second system, the cheap one, with my modified KEF Q100s 5.25" coaxial (they sound much better than the originals) in near field, that is, without headphones. If you can no tell the differences then you have a problem (big bottleneck) with your audio system.

Remember -> 4K (AAC 192 kbps) for better sound.

Upgrade Your Eversolo DMP A6 [MASTER EDITON] with Beatechnik LHY LPS-A6. Well worth it in 2024 !!!

Is this your typical nonsense?

As always, where are your facts that this improves anything audibly? (It most likely doesn’t and just costs money).

Your sighted non level matched listening opinion are not facts (same goes for your Q100s, with which you polute each thread, yet we are still waiting for proof. But never mind, I am not holding my breath for it)

Just picked up a demo unit of this thing from local shop. So far I love it.

Question: What do I need to do other set volume to fixed level to ensure bit perfect. I don't have any EQ turned on for my output (BAL-XLR) ?

Thanks!

There is a volume passthrough in ‘settings’ but you will need to attenuate with another device if you select that option.
Keith

Ok I'm pretty stoked on this thing!

Didn't know have a dedicated interface on the desk would be this nice to have

Anything I should know about this thing that's not already in the manual?

Will be using it mostly with Roon

Edit: Is there any way to enable volume passthrough mode for certain outputs but not other? IE for my XLR balanced out to my headphone amp I want fixed max volume for bit perfect, but for the SPDIF out I want to be able to use the volume knob (SPDIF would be to KEF LSXII which don't have volume control on the speakers and I don't care about bit perfect. I know the KEF's are Roon ready and I'll lose seeing their settings in the Roon app but whatever they're set and forget mostly.

When you set volume to the highest, you’ll see it flashes and tells you volume pas through set. So you can do it by turning th knob even if the menu option isn’t highlighted

Sweet so just set it to highest and it shows you you're in bit perfect pretty much (as long as no EQ set I guess?) cool feature

Yeah I though

Yeah I thought it was a nice feature. It doesn't actually set the volume pass through option as showing on in the menu though, I guess because when that is set you can't change the volume. Anyway I continue to be impressed by the thought put into this box.

Shion the option on my A-8 at least is contained within the output menu, ie if you select XLR it’s the menu that contains all the options for XLR output.
That isn’t particularly clear is it, sorry.
Keith

Oh Maybe I wasn't clear. I know where the option is, I'm just saying it doesn't indicate your getting volume pass through when you turn the volume to 15 (?), so I didn't realise I was getting the bit perfect playback until I saw the little on screen notification briefly flash while I was changing the volume.

It also makes sense that it wouldn't indicate it, because actually setting it in the menu means the volume can't change I believe... so its a bit different when you do it that way.

I realized that volume settings are saved per output, so switching from XLR out to SPDIF I can have XLR at full volume (pass through) and when I jump over to SPDIF it saves where I was last (like 10 out of 15 digital volume level)

I assume if my XLR out is feeding a Schiit Magnius the right thing to do is to set the output volume of the eversolo to max 0 dB and control volume with the pot on the Schiit right?

Hi,
Before buying this unit, can someone please help me on one thing ?
I want to use the internal DAC for streaming and local playback from my NAS with DLNA but for TV i want to do a bit different.
My Nvidia Shield TV will be connected with USB on the USB-C input. I watch movies on 2 peakers so i don't need multichannels.
But in order to use headphones, i want to connect my Fiio BTA 30 Pro as an external DAC throuh the USB-A output because it allows LDAC transmission.
How easy will it be to switch from the internal DAC to the external one ? Can i do it easily with the Eversolo remote ?
Basically, can i listen to QObuz using the internal streamer and DAC and suddenly swith to the external DAC to enjoy LDAC on my headphones ?
Can i output the a source from USB-C input to an external DAC trough USB-A output ?
Thank you for your help.

You can select input and output from the unit or from the app, I can’t think of a reason why you can’t configure to your preference.
Keith
