OK, so the A6 cannot and doesn't handle anything to do with more than 2 channels and is strictly for 2-channel music. fine.
Just to be precise: it won't do Atmos. It can do Multichannel to HDMI out if the tracks are played locally, that is, read from the SSD by the player itself.
The level of compatibility with AVRs can vary, as I see in the dedicated forum at Zidoo/Eversolo there are different results with different brands.

Hello
I`ve had the DMP(flash drive stored Music )for about six months and I`m listening with planer magnetic trough a AK headphones amp
I`ve tried USB/toslink or RCA and doesn’t seem to make ANY difference
Should the balance connection make any difference!
Best
Stef

Thanks Salt
I`ve used pentacom cables with my Sony m1A (Dap),with great results
I just wander if the balance option in the DmpA6 could be a better choice ?
Appreciate it
Best
Stef

See post#1. Neither in- nor output gives an audible difference.
If there would be one noticable, it's on the input side of the receiving item.

So is the xlr balanced connection more “powerful “ since the xlr balance input in the headphone Amp has a 6.5 W instead of the 2.5 W (unbalanced)?
Thank you for your patience
Stef

Simplyfied You can see XLR as doubled RCA, where one channel is reversed (- instead of +), and so gives a Voltage of 4 V between + and -, as a single RCA provides a Voltage of 2 V to 0 (ground). This does not matter when connecting well engeneered equipment in an environment of no to low distortion intrusion (as usual at home).
To Your Question: the output of any Amp is independent of the output of the source, with the only exception, that source's output voltage is to low to drive the amplifier to it's end, what in case of A6 with it's sufficent output stage would mean the (pre)amplifier is far off usual impedance at input (and thus messy).

Awesome Salt
Great explanation!
Now I need to explain it to myself:)
Happy holidays

Damn my A-8 A-6 comparison comes out tomorrow. I wonder if we will come to the same conclusion?

OK bear with me
I`m listening to my HD1 Marantz CD player as well as my Eversolo DMPA6, with my headphones
Same "tracks", with different dynamics (the Marantz CD being more "energetic" in granular notes decays, layering like different kinds of piano tonality) Eversolo being "recessed"
Settle but revealing
So the Marantz has a more efficient electrical capacity (sort of speak) than the Evesolo?
Even my Sony WM1A without a DAC (software conversion only) has a superior tonality!
So the XLR from the Eversolo is limited to the internal electrical unit limits?
Hope I`m making "some kind of" sense
Stef

The conclusion on A-6 vs A-8 of my wife is already they are different. She prefers the design of A-8 and I did right decision!

Keith, this article confirms what you were saying, the sound signature of the two is close and there are a few small differences in favour of the A8, there are innovative features not found in the competition and a more complete and outwardly more upmarket device.

@mirror88 Hello, I have some questions about Tidal app in Solo. There are some differences between the native app and the mobile one, I'll try to list them:
1. If I pick a track there are no algorithm suggestions to play the queue.
2. I can't get to the album pressing the title or singer name like it is possible on mobile app.
3. There is no opportunity to view the text of the track.
Are all this features planned to be introduced in next firmware? BSTRGRDS.

Thanks for the link Werther, Ed Selley he was doing so well until he felt compelled to roll out some old subjective chestnut, ‘house sound’ and his conclusion is amusing, ‘not quite as good as the manufacturers that pay for advertising ‘ .

This depends on the flexibility that the API can achieve. There will definitely be differences between the public API and the official APP. While it may not be of much help, could you send some screenshots of the second entry? Because I don't quite understand this question. Maybe PM me.
