Another question for A 6 users:
If a portable computer CD drive is plugged into the USB port, can the A6 play redbook CDs without first ripping them?

  • I can answer my own question now if someone is also wondering

  • The MQA ‘Studio’ (blue light) gives confirmation directly from mastering engineers, producers or artists to their listeners. MQA Studio authenticates that the sound you are hearing is exactly as played in the studio when the music was completed and, by implication, that this is also the definitive version of the recording at that point in time.
  • A second level, ‘MQA’ (green light) is available to indicate that although the stream is genuine, provenance may be uncertain or that it is not yet the final release.
Now that you know what the file is supposed to sound like, try to replicate the very same acoustic performance of the studio where the recording took place.
If you're serious about audio, you listen to WAV, or FLAC, and leave MQA-blatancy out of your door. Seriously.

Mine displays tracks for extraction but bug for playback, maybe works depending on model.

Yes but if you are Tidal subscriptor, you are tied to MQA. Until they leave it

Yes, so be it: wait for Tidal to completely migrate to FLAC. Meanwhile, as it looks like you have no alternative, listen to whatever MQA you get.

Thank you very much for the answers of the various filters.

Do any of you also have the remote control? I don't really understand what it's for, if it doesn't have number buttons, I can't change channels and on Internet radio I can't even go forward or backward through the various channels, exactly?

The cost is low but I don't understand what it's for if it's so limited.
Thank you.

I do , it was $12 :) Its actually not bad, I'm playing around using as a pre-amp in my office system and the remote makes volume and mute easier than opening cell phone or iPad. The device is on a shelf across the office. You can also forward, replay, pause, mute, volume, and change the various displays (VU, spectrum, album details, etc). It can also power on and off the unit. Some have complained about the feel of the remote, I think it's pretty good. I have a BAT integrated and its remote is machined billet aluminum and I don't love it. Similar with the Luxman integrated remote which is also aluminum, but better than the BAT unit.

Any idea on how to measure with REW? There is no HDMI input. I guess it can be done via RCA?

I've always used USB in .
USB out on computer > USB in on device.
If device doesn't have USB in I have used a DAC in-between and used analog in, balanced or unbalanced.

Mirror ,

i have an A8 on pre-order…

can you implement a firmware update to the A8 to allow CEC function in the HDMI ARC input ?
This would allow a TV to power on/off the A8 as well as allowing you to not have to go to the TV’s menu and turn off the TV’s internal speakers
each time you want to use the A8 for TV sound….

or , at a minimum , have the A8‘s HDMI ARC input wake the A8 from standby when it senses an audio signal from the HDMI ARC input …

thanks

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask but are you also looking into allowing to hide the side bar? It would increase app compatibility and would make the Ui look even better because I can just have the app open with no distractions.

New amp from Eversolo (AMP-F2) just listed at @Audiophonics :

If only it wasn’t a re-badge of a Starke design.

I hope it will land in Amir's hands... ;)
I wouldn't hope much, if I was you... This is based on NS600 modules from Starke Sound :

Hi. Bought the A6 a few weeks ago and its great. Ever since I bought it I cannot wait to enjoy more music using Qobuz and Roon. I do however have one problem. I am using the analog out so making use of the internal DAC of the A6. While playing songs with some songs I have a slight cracking sound in the music. When this appears it is very disturbing. I thought at first that it had something to do with my speakers mid and high tone 'woofers'. But playing another song that is making use of the same Herz frequenties it is no problem. No cracking sound. Anyone any idea?
