Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer Review

Hello all,
Just ordererd a DMP-A6, and i was wondering about how the unit manages the sleep modes ? There's no remote control, is the unit wakes up when you send a stream using airplay or Spotify Connect ?

It’s still a good analysis of the Eversolo, snake oil aside.

Accuphase E 4000, the top of the class AB at Accuphase, 9000 euros coupled with a DMP at 900 euros, sure it must be good, proves that this little streamer works terribly with disproportionally more expensive components, I saw that with my Denon at 4000 euros

I don't have a Denon AVR, but my Marantz and (two) Yamaha AVRs decode multichannel flac files properly ...

The A6 is doing the decoding from FLAC to PCM (or your Roon Core is if using the A6 as a Roon endpoint) not the AVR.

Good to know. I also have a Denon AVR (a 6400H) and as soon as i'll receive the DMP-A6 i'll test with HDMi port.
Could you please tell me how the A6 behaves with sleep mode ? Can you wake it up using any streaming service ?

At the standby level, there is a problem I believe, I do not use it, it does not start automatically like a Rose from a streaming service or Roon, to check with others, it seems to me.. .

Yes, I know. I can send mch PCM from the A6 over HDMI to my Marantz as well. My point is this is PCM, not FLAC. HDMI doesn't even carry FLAC. Previous poster said his AVRs were decoding FLAC and that simply isn't the case. The AVR is receiving PCM from the A6, applying DSP, and converting to analog.

Oui je sais. Je peux également envoyer mch PCM de l'A6 via HDMI à mon Marantz. Mon point est que c'est PCM, pas FLAC. HDMI ne prend même pas en charge FLAC. L'affiche précédente a déclaré que ses AVR décodaient FLAC et que ce n'est tout simplement pas le cas car il a déjà été décodé en PCM par l'A6. L'AVR reçoit alors le PCM, applique le DSP et convertit en analogique.

I hadn't paid attention to that, I don't use HDMI a lot, the starting file in the Eversolo is Flac, all my files are Flac, thank you for the precision, that said, it sounds pleasant

Tocmai am comandat un DMP-A6 și mă întrebam cum gestionează unitatea modurile de repaus? Nu există telecomandă, unitatea se trezește când trimiteți un stream folosind airplay sau Spotify Connect?

If all answers to the above are yes, then this could be the ultimate music streaming solution in a home theater setup ...

For the time being unless something gets sorted in firmware, you'll want the Eversolo BTR-12 remote for turning it on. I've found the remote nice for skipping tracks in playlists, pausing and volume control if you use it as a digital front end, much faster than navigating a software app.

See my last post. The AVR is receiving PCM (not FLAC) from the A6 and has no knowledge that it started out as FLAC but yes, an attached AVR can receive up to 5.1/6 ch of PCM from the A6.

@mirror88 : on a more serious note, there seems to be an issue with the DMP-A6's DLNA/uPnP implementation. I've been streaming gapless music successfully via my android phone to my Matrix Audio Element M for a little more than three years now using Bubblesoft's BubbleUpnp app. It worked flawlessly via streaming and from local storage. However, I am not able to do this with my new DMP. There are always gaps, sometimes significant ones. The regular apps (Qobuz in my case) do gapless fine, but they're not as easy to use. The behavior persisted after power-cycling all equipment My info:

Galaxy S23 phone
Android 13
DMP media player 1.1.80
BubbleUPnP 3.8.0.2
Loxjie D40 pro external DAC

Aouch.... I'm used to my Octavio Stream which is always on... There's some settings to tune the sleep ?

Could someone let me know if there's a way to turn on automaticaly the A6 when the powercord is attached please ? I've got a smart powerplug to turn on everything, and according to review i just saw, you need to press the power button every time to start the A6... And i don't want to do that !
