I have set up both Eversolo streamers the DMP A-6 and the fancy pants DMP A-8 we can even compare either or both to a Wiim Pro Plus.
If anyone fancies playing with one or both drop me a line.
Prices are unchanged £750 inc for the A-6 and £1850 for the DMP A-8.

Does anyone know why bbc sounds appears on the device under music apps and works fine, but on the android app there isn't even that category, although Amazon comes up under music services which does appear on the app?

no and I find it really annoying. Also don't get the remote as that is bordering on an on/off switch

The remote is quite useful the family use it ( and leave it somewhere I can never find it) .
@Redwine I did connect up a couple of turntables phono stage to the A-8 for a complete end to end analogue experience and it worked well.
But comparing both A-6 and A-8 through their analogue outs into a couple of pairs of identical active speakers I couldn’t hear any differences.

I take this opportunity to ask for advice, Wiim Ultra in Italy doesn't know when it will be released (first June, then July now maybe end of August...).

I'm considering purchasing Eversolo 6 "No Master" as I understand the differences are minimal, right?

In your opinion, is Eversolo 6 better than Wiim ULtra?

The remote control (I don't want to be tied to a smartphone) often falls out and needs assistance for several days) therefore:

What functions does it have? turn it on turn it off ok then? can you change the radio channel? I don't see any number buttons, but perhaps you can use the arrows to go back and forth through the stored radio stations? I usually listen to 2-3 channels of free internet radio.

If you can please give me more information, I imagine some of you have the remote control, it would be useful for my decision.

Correct.

In your opinion, is Eversolo 6 better than Wiim ULtra?

It depends on what is important to you. The DMP-A6 doesn't bother including a phono input, but does have USB C, Coax and Optical inputs to work as a DAC for other devices. The Wiim Ultra very stupidly does not include USB C and Coax inputs.

The DMP-A6 allows for the installation of an internal SSD to store your collection of flacs.

The Wiim Ultra is $329. The DMP-A6 is $859.

The Wiim Ultra is a Wiim Pro Plus with an added headphone amp (good addition), a screen (good addition), and phono inputs (questionable need).

The DMP-A6 does not include a headphone amp.

The Wiim Ultra has "room correction" only if you have an Apple phone.

Thanks for the reply.

In terms of performance I imagine they are similar (Eversolo 6 also has a good Dac) considering that I will probably use the Dac of the Rega Elicit MK5 amplifier

All that remains is to understand what the Eversolo remote control can do.

So if it turns on/off, has a mute button, and can change radio channels (even just free internet radios) I think I'll get Eversolo.

I don't care about room correction because it can never be at the levels of the Dirca which uses Nad with a dedicated microphone... it seems like an almost useless accessory if tied to the microphone of the Apple smartphone!

Does Eversolo also have an equalizer?

I find parametric eq which Eversolo have to be more useful than automated correction Dirac.
