I bought an Eversolo DMP A6 some 2 days ago and tried it eversince. I like very much the sound it produces, but it seems to have some bugs and, more, seems that the firmware updates builds on that.
1. I have issues playing it over WIFI. I tried AirPlay2 from my iphone, I tried Tidal application in Eversolo application, I tried Tidal Connect over the A6. The same issue, music stops playing after 5-10 minutes, sometimes less sometimes more. All of the above, using the iPhone. Surprisingly I downloaded the Eversolo application for iPad on my Mac (it works!) and it woks fine with Tidal, no interruptions! I am puzzled. I understand that this issue with interruptions when playing over WIFI is a long time standing issue which seems can not be resolved? I tried everything - cleared cache, rebooted the sistem, reinstalled applications, created 2 independent 2.4G and 5G frequencies in my router, forced Eversolo to connect to 2.4, allocated fixed channels in the router etc. Nothing worked, except for this situation when I command the Eversolo from my Mac. Isn't this weird?

2. Today, I received a firmware update which I installed. Now the physical volume control on the Eversolo device would not increase volume, would only decrease it no matter I turn the knob left or right. firmware version 1.5.30. Anyone experienced this?

I like the sound Eversolo produces, I like it design, so I would like to keep the device. But these software issues make me think twice. I still can return the product so any ideas/advices/comments would be welcome.

Thanks a million

With regard to the wifi, you seem like your technical so have done all the "good stuff" especially fixed channels.

One extra cheap step (given you want to keep it) is grab a TP-Link TL-WA801N Wi-Fi Access Point N300 (or similar device from a good brand) and a bog standard cat 6 ethernet cable and plug the TP-Link into a router ethernet port.

If you can run a long cat 6 that moves the TP-Link closer to the DMP then all the better. Then connect all devices in the playback chain (DMP, phones etc) to the TP-Link. Also turn off channel roaming in the TP-Link

You could even use MAC address filtering to limit what can connect to the TP-Link (stops someone else in the household using it)

This way you avoid the crappy wifi hardware in the router and create a dedicated channel just for the DMP and related audio devices.

I thought about an AP. But I think I found the issue which has nothing to do with the A6. It is all about the energy management of the iPhone. I did not pay any attention to the battery level of my iPhone when testing the Eversolo. However, now, after running it from a fully charged battery, all the issues seems to have gone, it works perfectly for more that 2 hours w/o any stops. I believe that Apple deactivates the applications running in background, even if you set them to run as such, when the battery level is below a certain treshold. I am now working to validate this assumption. Should it prove false, I shall definitely consider an AP, thanks for the advice
