Eversolo DMP-A6 gen1 vs gen2

Hi guys

I have an opportunity to get either the DMP-A6 gen1 or the gen2, both used, both for almost the same price. I have seen the detailed review of the gen1 here on ASR which looks pretty good... however, I could not find any detailed measurement for the gen2 anywhere. While I know that the gen2 uses a LPS and the gen1 does not, it would be nice to know that the gen2 does not perform any worse than the gen1 before pulling the trigger on any one of them.

If any of you have had the opportunity to test both, or can point me to a detailed comparison between the two or even a detailed measurement of just the gen2, it would help me out a lot.

I'd both (but the Gen 2 as ME version) and would say: You'll not hear any difference.
Advantage in the Gen 2 is IMHO primarily the trigger out.
But: If you'll buy an used Gen 2, then take care about the power supply. Some early charges have broken power supplies integrated.

Hi @Burki. Thanks for pointing out the issue about the power supply of the Gen2. I was not aware of this. I ended up buying a Gen2 that was refurbished/Grade B from a dealer. It was heavily discounted. I presume that it has already had its power supply updated. As long as it works, all is good. The unit sounds very nice and is beautiful to look at.

I was deciding between the Gen 2 and the A8. My supplier told me there have been a lot of dead and returned A6 Gen 2s so far (power supply issues).
