Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2: Not letting go of eARC when switching to Internal Player Option

Hi, people. Now here's a weird issue. I use my DMP-A6 Gen2 as a music streamer into the Eversolo/Stark power amp. I also connect it to my Samsung Smart TV via both units dedicated eARC HDMI connection.

The Samsung's eARC HDMI is set up as recommended, using a dedicated HDMI 2.1 lead into the TV's eARC HDMI connection with the TV's "internal speaker" option disabled and reset to Anynet (CIC). It works as expected, outputting quality audio via the Eversolo's eARC HDMI connection. When I power off the Eversolo, again this defaults back to the TV's "internal speaker" mode without me having to do anything.

The problem comes when switching to "Internal Player" on the Eversolo to listen to music while the TV's on. Even though the Eversolo switches back to "Internal Player" OK, The Eversolo fails to let go of the HDMI connection to the TV, so there is no sound from the TV at all until I power down the Eversolo, then the TV's defaults to the "Internal Speaker" setting and TV sound returns.

This is a problem as I have an external SMSL headphone amp connected via the Eversolo's USB port so two people can be in the room, one listening to the TV, the other listening to the headphone music.

Anyone come across this?
