I'm really surprised that this thing gets so much attention here on ASR, it's clearly just an extremely overpriced streamer with no actual audible or functional benefits over the competition, so why bother?

There is only one power consumption rating at 30W specified.

Is this indication that Eversolo continues to omit true standby mode in the A10? Isn't this non-compliant with EU regulations?
I think no standby in the DMP-A10 conforms to the EU regulations because, as far as I know, these do not require that a standby mode be implemented. The regulations stipulate the maximum power consumption in a standby mode (one threshold for the deep standby -- in two versions, for the display off or left on -- and another threshold for the network standby). No standby means no restrictions on it.

Since the DMP-A10 belongs to the category of luxury goods, the target customer is probably not expected to care about such things. The DMP-A6, on the other hand, is explicitly said to have a standby mode. However, in your words, it is not a "true standby." I might assume that, since "no standby" may sound bad to some customers, Eversolo called the practically full shutdown with the volume knob illuminated a standby mode. Why they chose not to invest effort and meet the EU regulations for a normal (with a quick wake-up) standby mode is puzzling. Probably, they figured out that there should be enough customers anyway.

So this cost 3800€ and does not have a amplifier build in. Some crazy prices for streamers these days.

Grimm Audio MU2 18000€
Naim NDX 2 6000€
HiFi ROSE RS130 4800€
Eversolo DMP-A10 3800€
Node Icon 1000€ (comes close to the DMP-10 in specs)
WiiM Ultra 400€

Is there so much diffrence in sound quality if you connect them to the same amplifier?

It's likely more about owning nice things. Like a Rolex, or an expensive amplifier. It's not necessarily because the functionality is different, but because one can appreciate things like looks, attention to detail and build quality.

There are others, for example, the DEQX Pre 4, which, in MY opinion, would really be the ultimate preamp if it weren’t always in beta version and thus not truly finalized... This machine costs USD$12,450 https://www.deqx.com/products/

It does have +10dB on the analogue preamp, in terms of sound quality almost certainly no difference, unless one of them is really poorly designed.

I am afraid it is "worse" than that. Wearing a good reasonably expensive watch or driving a good reasonably expensive car makes every sense because of, as you say, the "looks, attention to detail and build quality." The differences in technical quality can be perceived in the most straightforward way (and I do not mean here things like Rolex, mentioned by you, or Lamborghini, because they do not fit the common definition of "reasonably expensive," let alone the issues of aesthetic taste and social identity). But as the data published on this site in the category of streamers convincingly demonstrates, the differences are very unlikely to be discernible by the human ear/brain already on the price scale of one thousand, unless something is messed up. The "upscale" streamers for several thousand seem therefore to be more in the same category of goods as extremely expensive lady's bags.

And they surprise us with a companion 200W amplifier…. nice!

What is the price of that amp?

With their communication strategy you will know it in a short time. But before that, you will have to think that it is the 8th wonder of the world.
