The Denton review was a little bit flawed as Amir reviewed them without grille, but they are supposed to be used with the grille on.

Erins review of the "bigger brother" (Linton) showed substantial differences between grille on and off.

Makes no sense to test a thing in a fashion for which it was not designed.

I doubt you’ll get better for 200 quid.

If you can bear the hideous old fashioned look of the things, I think any buyer is likely to be very pleased.

How does it sound?
I was tempted by that offer too.

Just to finally follow up on this, I'm pretty happy with them after room correction. FR quite choppy with my non-ideal room and roll off hard below 40hz before PEQ, but tons of headroom (they're on literally 10% volume) means Wiim RoomFit got them looking pretty flat in-room down to 20hz, if we're willing to believe it (slight weirdness around the 100hz crossover which I've not investigated):
