I have not found any measurements for x2600 but if it is any like x3600h, then DAC is the least of my concern. A big reason to pick AVR is simplicity and adding a DAC to the system is adding complexity and very unlikely any improvement

A DAC makes a difference in stereo for sure but you'll have to find out for yourself. And the Fosi ZD3 for €120,- is a bargain that will soon be sold out (temporarely). But back to the topic, I agree.

Using a standard quality DAC (110 SNR) let listen a True benefit from usual or "good" HC amps for stereo listening, of course depending of the worst elements of your chain. You Just can't deny it by having a simple look on ASR measurements (confirmed by blind tests, if they were needed!).
