Bought a pair of Etymotic ER2XR's. Not 6 months in the left channel volume dipped quite drastically. Chatted with a tech, sent him the RMA and receipt, they sent back an authorization form. I shipped back the faulty unit and they claim they will send out a new one this week. Wow. That easy? Anyone else have a nice Etymotic IEM warranty repair experience. So far I'm impressed. They sound very good by the way. Learned about them on ASR and have been very impressed. Amazon has them for $80 now. I bit at $100 and right after price went up to $150.

I worked for a company that manufactured the tiny module that went into their ER-43 model earphone. This had a compressor circuit that clamped excessively loud sounds, and was not intended for the audio connoisseur market, but for military and other personnel exposed to sudden loud hearing-damaging sounds.

So the warranty repair was delayed from November 2020 to a week and then delayed further to “sometime in January” due to “no stock” yet Amazon has inventory and is shipping throughout the holiday season. Etymotic has dumped all warranty stock in favor of distributors like Amazon. Why would you not support current customers in favor of new sales? Etymotic is revealing its priority here and it’s not current customers like me.
They have promised a shipment in January after a 2 month wait and as of January 11th 2021 I have received nothing.

After waiting 2 months from November Etymotic sent me a brand new pair of ER2XR’s. I give their warranty process a C-. There distribution personnel are not informed and their support is even less informed about warranty stock and will say there is a week turnaround when it is actually “they have no idea”. Etymotic will supply high volume distributors at the sake of making warranty customers wait for new stock, in my case 2 months. Decent product, great customer service, horrible stock management and distribution. Flip of the coin warranty support in my case. I got tails due to the warranty support during the holiday season.
