Why ?Riiiight....
Lumin just entered my list of products I will never buy or recommend.
Did you hear the U2 ?
Did you compare with other streamers ?
Do you own a Lumin and have problems with functions or service ?

Because of their silly comments regarding Wi-Fi vs Ethernet... in the snakeoil bin.Why ?

Galvanic Isolation !We can of course all have our own opinions, as they are nothing but subjective.
However, when a manufacturer makes objective statements like "Fibre Network provides complete isolation from network digital noise" without backing it up with any proof that it's a problem that even exists or makes a difference (which it doesn't) I can't take them seriously.
Unscreened Twisted Pair UTP (e.g. Cat5) cables have galvanic isolation, assuming no POE. You don't need fibre.
Clarification for those not already aware - wired ethernet standards require transformer isolation. Sometimes the pulse transformers are a separate component near the socket, and sometimes they're built into the socket itself.Sure. But so does copper ethernet as well. It's by design.
However, correct me if I'm wrong, that galvanic isolation is only for the signal wires and not the screen.Clarification for those not already aware - wired ethernet standards require transformer isolation. You are not wrong. In home audio use a shield on a network cable is more likely to cause problems than solve them, counter to many people's expectations. However, correct me if I'm wrong, that galvanic isolation is only for the signal wires and not the screen.
