Just thought I'd share this project I've been playing with in case it's of interest to anyone. It's based on the Guition JC4827W543C ESP32 S3 touchscreen board from Aliexpress which costs ~$20 and PCM1808 ADC and PCM5102 DAC I2S boards. It runs up to 15 bands of PEQ per EQ stage plus crossover, limiting, test tones, presets and visualiser screens. EQ stages use SVF filters up to 55Hz then standard biquads (depending on Q, and crossfaded when sweeping) . It runs at 48k - I did experiment with it running at 96k but the hardware was not quite up to it. It's entirely vibecoded - this was really a test of what a non coder could create with just very basic knowledge of Arduino IDE and C++. It was occasionally frustrating, but I was shocked at what could be acheived using these tools.
