Erin reviews this speaker system directed at audio professionals, marketed with many big claims and a large feature set.

The white on back text you posted is IK Multimedia's marketing, not part of Erin's review, right?

I'm not going to watch Erin's video but I hope he doesn't agree that IK has defied physics.
Correct, straight from IK Multimedia's product page.:D

Resurrecting this old thread - if anyone has these (MKII), I'm trying to verify the dimensions. Depth is listed by the manufacturer as: 160 mm/(6.3"). Is this the depth of just the speaker? Or is this with the included tilting base/stand? I'd like to place these on some nice desktop stands I already have but the surface platform is only 18 cm deep. Conventional box speakers can easily overhang the platform by a few CM in any direction, but these likely couldn't due to the shape of the tilting base. Thx!

Not sure if you figured this out already, but the MTM Mk2 also includes a little mounting pad that will easily fit on your stands....if you want to mount them horizontally....however if you want to use your stands with the tilting base, it won't fit sadly because I just measured the depth of mine and it's 7.75". The listed depth is of the speaker itself, so you're stuck horizontal on your stand. Hope that helps.

Any thoughts on the self-noise/hiss on these? Can't find too much info online, though I did find a post from someone who thought it was less than the 1st version. I use my monitors in an ultra near-field position so pretty sensitive to it I guess. Thx!
