Hi. Don`t know if im posting this thread in the right forum so i apologise in advance if im mistaken! I was on the lookout for my first bigger speakers ( previously i was using Microlab FC330 for 50 bucks back in the day) and i ended up buying the Edifier R2850DB. They are big and can get pretty loud for my room. I started playing with the APO+Peace equalizer but can`t get them to sound optimal. Can you guys suggest me some good equalizer settings that i can try out and go from there and start adjusting them for my taste in sound. I tried a few and started playing around but it got worse - sometimes it gets too bassy and sometimes the vocals sound unnatural or high pitched. So I hope you guys can suggest some good settings preferably for this specific speakers. I would really appreciate it! Also I want to ask if the speakers are going to sound different connected with and optical cable (right now they are connected with RCA and 3.5mm to the PC)?

Hi @N0comment! Welcome to ASR.

Without anechoic frequency response measurements of the R2850DB, we can't really suggest appropriate EQ parameters.

In the absence of professional measurements, you can also make your own and use them to correct your speakers.

Some inexpensive microphones for measuring speakers include:

miniDSP UMIK-1
iPhone + HouseCurve App
Micbooster EM258
