Equalizer options (app?) for hifi system

I am currently building a new hifi system from the ground up. CD, TT, DAC/streamer -> pre-amp, power amp, speakers. I am using Spotify for streaming currently.

I would like to have EQ capabilities for the system, ideally in a hardware format but not with sliders or potentiometers. Being able to control it via an app would be great, but I worry about app support some years down the line, typically such apps needs regular updating.

What's out there, what should I look for, what budget do I need to have?

Here, many links:

MiniDSP between preamp and power amp is one approach. Another is to use one of the Wiim models to combine streamer and preamp or power amp - they have EQ built in and are app controlled. The Wiim is probably the more cost effective route, although which model probably depends on whether your turntable has built in phono amp or not. If you don't already have (or plan to buy) vinyl that isn't available in a digital format I would seriously think about why you want a turntable - it's an expensive way to collect and play recordings at generally lower fidelity, and I say this as someone who has a turntable and a fair vinyl collection. If I was starting now I would skip the turntable and get better speakers instead.

Not a dedicated DSP box, but I'd recommend having a look at the WiiM Amp Pro.

It contains a streamer, DSP (bass management and 2x10-band PEQ), preamp and power amp in one box, with an app that is constantly improved.
It also measures pretty good.

Mine replaced several dedicated boxes and works great!

For an analog approach maybe Schiit Loki Max. It's a kind of modern Cello Pallette. It has knobs but they control resistors\relays. Also a nice remote and presets.
