Equalizer APO plus Peace Graphical Interface - can it be switched on on a permanently base?

I have really no clue about Computer-HiFi.
My wife want an upgrade from her Amazon 10 Dollar Computer speakers.
So I am considering to buy the Edifier R 1280T speakers for her windows 11 Setup in the doctors office.
Crinacle suggest Equalizer APO plus Peace for Windows users.

If I use such a setup: is it necessary to mess around with the app every time when the computer is
switched on in the morning, or can I do the equalization in a kind of way as if it would be part of the windows 11 operating system.
Permanently. And working also when my wife watches YouTube videos. Automatically.

That would be extremely important. Otherwise I would buy a much more (4 x more!) costly active speaker with a much more perfect, flat frequency response: the Nubert A125 Pro

Can I save some money?

With my iPad -as an Apple user- I hate it, that I can’t do any settings for parametric equalization in the operating system.
So any time I watch YouTube my headphones sound like they sound (Sennheiser HD58x Jubilee): Very good but not overwhelming.
Only with using Tidal, Qobuz and Roon and just streaming music (without the pictures) I can let them really shine with my parametric equalizers as if they would cost $30.000

There are lots of choices for small, active speakers and you are not trying to get some kind of audiophile setup here, so it's not worth the inevitable 80 page ASR discussion. You can buy on Amazon etc and get a refund if no good, enough said..

I assume you are driving the speakers via the small "headphone out" socket on a laptop or maybe it has RCA sockets if it i a big PC. Or you can use USB in some cases. I use USB to a little Topping DAC, which then drives phones or amp/speakers in my office; I like the handy volume knob and my laptop has a terrible and noisy internal DAC, but I digress.

I did install Equaliser APO code and it was fine, and I'm fairly sure it remembered settiings across boot cycles.

I don't think it does anything in setup though. I only use FB2K media player to play my iwn music files, and in that app, you select one of several output devices. One possible one being the internal DAC and headphones and in my case I select my Topping USB DAC, and use it in "exclusive, event mode". This means FB2K bypasses all the windows junk (the mixer and sound diddling) and sends bit perfect data to my DAC, but the important thing (for me) is that all the windows dings and bongs sounds do not go to my DAC and speakers/phones when playing music. Bliss! I think APO is bypassed for all settings too, not just the up/down scaling it does so as to mix several sound sources. And FB2K has good EQ stuff that I don't use!

What I don't know is whether the music app you are using has the same configurability as FB2K - I'm guessing you're using Tidal or Qobuz etc. and someone else needs to step in about what they can do - I know zero about 'net streaming apps - i.e. if you can pick a target device and bypass Windows stuff. Probably you can. And maybe EQ is built in....

Sorry, if this was long and not helpful. It's hard to work out exactly what you have and what you (ideally) need to achieve....

EAPO settings are consistent across reboot cycles and all apps, unless you use exclusive mode like mentioned by @Redacted. You select the output device which the EQ shall be applied to like "Speakers/Headphones (Realtek XYZ)" and configure your filters in Peace. Done.

Only caveat: It happens from time to time that a Windows update resets all APOs and thereby turns off EAPO for all devices. In that case, you have to run the EAPO "Device Selector" and put the checkmark behind "Speakers/Headphones (Realtek XYZ)" again. The Peace filter/EQ settings will not be lost, they just won't be applied to the output until you reactivate the device in the selector.
