Even with perforated metal grills, wife had to put a “cat guard” on top of the towers—they kept getting claws caught. Yeah, yeah…not best “acoustic” grill addition…at least one of the midranges instead of the single tweeter..

The perforated grills do not seem to impact sound. Did some research years ago, not really finding a definitive answer on acoustic transparency.
