Energy costs for your area?

In Italy my electricity bill at work costs me Euro 0.31 kw/h. With a power of 35 kw of the meter and the possibility of using 380v. At home we are at Euro 0.20 kw/h if I'm not mistaken.
It must be said, however, that there are many companies and it depends on the type of contract and the power in Kw/h that you need. The higher it is, the more you pay.

My cost is about 9 cents per kWh.

I get an email like this weekly:

I just looked at the bill to confirm and the cost for electricity alone is 50.1%. The remaining 49.9% are "energy transport", charges, meter management and VAT....

Not sure how accurate this is but clearly these are averages, as the US ranges from $.11 to $.32 and is shown as $.16 on this table
PG$E charges between $0.4 to $0.6 (peak) in some ZIP codes, though (which is robbery from a monopolist).

I'll give you another figure: to "fill up" my electric car at home I pay just over 10 euros. At the charging station with the operator I usually use it's just over 0.60 Eur Kw/h with 22 Kw/h charging and 0.82 with 110Kw/h DC fast charging

Current prices for gasoline and diesel in Oklahoma (including taxes):
  • Regular: $2.795
  • Mid-Grade: $3.149
  • Premium: $3.410
  • Diesel: $3.225
Edited to add: Prices are per gallon

Here in Germany about 0,30 Euro per kWh is the cheapest you can get even if you change the energy provider regularly and take the welcome bonus into account ...

You really have to take advantage of all government support programs in order to save costs. But anyone who does not meet the requirements for those (investment budget and home ownership) is missing out. My parents had solar panels installed on their house 15 years ago and feed in the electricity produced. On average they receive around 500 Euro per month.

I just looked at the bill to confirm and the cost for electricity alone is 50.1%. The remaining 49.9% are "energy transport", charges, meter management and VAT....
Here the cost of electricity alone is about 44 % right now. However, it must be taken into account that the EEG levy (to finance the expansion of renewable energies) is currently suspended. With the EEG levy, the electricity price would be almost 0.50 euros / kWh (cost of electricity 37 %).

Would you like to post the respective amount of kWh, consumed during the last 12 months?

I think we have a fairly low energy consumption per month.

Nov: 296 kWh
Dec: 348 kWh
Jan: 365 kWh
Feb: 312 kWh
Mar: 346 kWh
Apr: 280 kWh
May: 286 kWh
Jun: 312 kWh
Jul: 328 kWh
Aug: 312 kWh
Sep: 304 kWh
Oct: 300 kWh

Our electric rate is less than 8 cents per kilowatt-hr! Every time I look at doing solar, even with incentives, it doesn't remotely pencil out.

We are all electric as a result with the exception of our cooktop which is Propane (also used for back up generator). I think worst case bills are $400 in winter.

Congrats! Based on the respective national available income, the Germans pay more than 5 times as much ...
And probably waist 5 times less of it.

Here in Norway we have separate power and grid costs following deregulation some years back (where you are free to choose the power supplier, but not of course the grid), with a fixed and variable element of both. Last month my costs were the following (billed in NOK, but expressed here in USD):

Fixed grid cost USD 17,4
Fixed power supplier charge USD 5,4
Variable grid cost USD 0,039/kwh
Variable power cost USD 0,033/kwh

Total usage 677 kwh in a fairly mild September.

this one instead, for the fireplace, top quality beech cost me 250 Euro with delivery. Up until two years ago I paid 130/140 Euro from the same supplier.
Enjoy it now. It is banned in many parts of California on most days. New construction and remodels do not permit fireplaces.

£1,303.33 (5,218 kWh) on electricity and £312.02 (4848 kWh) on gas since I switched supplier to Octopus (they took over my existing supplier) in the last week of February 2024. Estimated annual costs are £2,330 and £830 respectively. I don't know if this includes the standing charges, it's not clear in the app.

2000 liters! 1x1x2 m
Ah, thats a big crate! I eyeballed it as roughly 0,5x0,5x1 - need to get my eyes checked.
