Currently checking out Thievery Corporation. First impression: Oh yes! Nice...

I first bought that album back in 2002/3. A lot of ESL (eighteenth street lounge) stuff is great.

I was into Jarre in the 1980s, Oxygene, Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields, Zoolok etc, then got back into electronica in the early noughties with Chicane the spiritual successor to Jean Michel Jarre.

(have a listen to the Paul Young come back and stay about 13 mins in)

Camiel had a great album around the same time:

and this cool guy Kubatko several years later:

and I absolutely loved this track of his and the beautiful little stop motion clip:

This is on one of his rare CDs.

Massive bleeps and bass techno track from Sheffield. The bass tones at 1m30s will rattle the foundations (or your brains if you are wearing headphones).

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I love bignic's stuff (Canada represent), and he just released FUTUREGRIND OST, so I'll be melting my ears with it all day.

It's the soundtrack for a game called FutureGrind; I've never played it, but it looks like an insane mashup of Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. If you're into game dev, the game's author has a great thread on Twitter about the long road to actually releasing this, design mockups and in-development screenshots, a few false starts, and general game dev porn. ;)

(It's funny, I'm usually luke-warm on chiptunesey game soundtrack kind of stuff, but this guy's music is a serious earworm for me, particularly Domina.)
