Electronica/dance/techno/et cetera.

Fantastic show from Moby

Ok so how do you lot feel about DJ mixes?
Not mine, just stuff I listen to. It's dance floor music, also great for the car and late nights with friends.

Bump?

Someone brought up Ritchie Hawtin somewhere on another thread. Here's an early mix with fellow Canuck, John Aquaviva. Got the CD when it was released, having being blown away seeing him DJ.

Definitely one of the early innovators of techno and I have loved how his sound has evolved over the years. Both as a musician and DJ.

(He also did a great minimal techno surround sound mix on DVD. Probably the first of it's type that I actually liked.)

I have that CD from release!
Thing is with RH, he's a brilliant DJ and can play in almost any style, but he likes to keep the vibe going. Which is great if the DJ before is good....
One strange night in the mid 90s, I had to have a word. He said "really?" I said yes, go for it. The place went wild and we had a top night, but he needed the nudge.
Lovely bloke.

Ah, the X-Mix series. Great releases and all time classics!

I got two of the vinyl ones, battered and played to death, very important for my formative years:

I bought the below track from Bandcamp (link) yesterday (at its release), and absolutely love it.
