Very cool machine! Two big strengths: sounds fat and punchy straight out of the box, and most importantly very nice to use. Very logical, quick and easy, terrific sequencer optimised for performance. They put a lot of thought into usability.

Crammed together a quick Electro-Acid jam tonight with my usual go-to rhythms. Live jam riding on one pattern using variation system and mutes:

Recorded directly on phone using its USB audio interface. Works nicely, and there isn't even any DAC and ADC in the way. ASR loves this trick

Nice! It'll be lots of fun. It's a very jammable machine, easy to get into, and the sequencer is particularly great.

It's as easy as starting up in update mode, connect any computerish device via USB (PC, phone, etc.), and copying the update file to its root directory. Very practical.

Had some fun today. Needed to test sequencing and synchronisation between devices and whether timing is tight, what better way than with a fast trancepeggio?

Minimal groovebox's bass track at front used for sequencing the Minifreak ("Trancefat" patch made in a hurry lol), with its own 303 style bass synth layered on top. Add basic boom tss, play around, test whether midi sync for the delay effect works - it does, follows tempo nicely - et voilà. Raw, loud, overdriven recording without a care in the world. Call it oldschool

Does that chart come with Minimal?
I'm selling my Microfreak and Electron Sample. Both great boxes but I never gelled with them. Quite sad about the Freak but I may get a poly synth at some point. Sequential Fourm looks good or the Behringer Juno 106 copy.

Yeah it comes with the cheat sheet. No printed manual as is often the case these days, sadly. Oh well, way easy enough to use, really only need the manual for system settings.

Selling stuff always feels sad, but what can you do. If you don't really click with something it's better to get something else for the money.

I had looked at the Microfreak too a while ago. Really glad I waited and saved up more and got the Mini instead (400 used). It's really triple or quadruple the synth for double the price. Proper 6 voice polyphony, two oscillators, glorious effects, regular keyboard - minikeys, but really some of the nicer keybeds.

Depending on what you're liking and missing on the Micro, it's an option. Can highly recommend, terrific instrument.

Otherwise, the market is impossibly full of choices if you have a little money. Between 500-1000 there's the raddest stuff already. Paralysing amounts really. Take your time and choose well! Go to music stores and try in person, nothing beats a first hand impression.
