Hello friends,
What do you think of the Elac ARB51-GE Navis for home listening? Is it worth that money?
I have been searching for 3-way powered speakers with high watt, with detailed imaging and soundstage and can be used without a subwoofer.
I expect to hear a similar sound to my Sennheiser HD 800S headphones coming from the speakers.
I will use my FIIO M17 digital out to Gustard x16 with XLR out.
I also have Denafrips Ares II in hand and RME ADI 2 is in use in the living room.
Will KRK Rokit 103 G4 with class D or G3 with class AB amps do the job? If yeas, which model?
Kali IN 8 3 way, Neumann, Presonus, Yamaha or any other suggestion?
Focal Trio is out of my budget.
Is ribbon tweeter going to make difference as far as the no-fatigue listening for long hours?
The more I search, the more I get confused.
I need help.
Thank you.

Few questions:

1. What is your budget?
2. Where are you located (by country)?
3, How far away will you be from your speakers?
4. How big is the room?

I’ve owned a pair of these for about a year and like them. I run them single ended input (RCA). They have good deep bass, plenty of power for me. There are a few dips in freq response around 3k, 8k & 14k..so i am running them with the mid and high switches on the rear at +1. The concentric driver makes for great imaging. I run them a bit toed in, listening position about 10ft away. They auto power off with no signal after a few mins (which i find a bit annoying, they do so with a light pop).
The self powered aspect of them helps my smaller space by eliminating amp(s) and more cabling etc.
I have a pretty eclectic music taste raning from classical to jazz to rock to punk rock. There are flatter response, more accurate speakers out there but these decently accommodate all of my records/tapes/digital music.
I’d rate them a strong B+. Of course this is all subjective and opinion. Ive owned a lot of different systems and for the price this can get you some nice sound.

Thank you, for your time. I have already bought them and have been using with my RME-ADI 2 FS DAC and Volumio player. I am happy with the sound so far. I agree about the bass response. I use them along with JBL pro LSR308 and I like the sound of both.

I just bought a Marantz AV8802a pre/pro. It's not shipped yet. I will use the XLRs to connect the RME, Elac and the JBLs in stereo mode. Basically, i will use the Marantz as XLR distributor and volume control. I was thinking if my Denafrips Ares II as DAC instead of RME, volumio as streamer with the Marantz with remote volume control would change the sound in a better way or worse. I guess i will find out when it arrives. I couldn't use my Denafrips with this setup because of the lack of volume control and remote. This is my bedroom setup.
I have McIntosh mx150, Smsl sd9, krk 10" 3 way monitors and focal trio 6be monitors in my living room. They sound good though. Any thoughts?
