Me too. I have The FS 247.3 (Jet 5) and I have NEVER heard a better speaker at any Price!I have the FS 247 and I LOVE them.

I've heard the Elac Vela FS 407 in a different context (nice showroom, correct placement, high sound volume) so it's difficult (=impossible) to make a fair comparison, however my impression is that the the Vela 407 are even better than the Carina FS 247.4. Let me rephrase: I would probably like the Vela 407 more than the Carina FS 247.4 but the Carinas are an incredible bargain (I paid them less than €1000, used but in mint conditions). However, the FS 247.3 and the FS 247.4 are significantly different (I've never had the opportunity to test the FS 247.3).Me too. The Vela FS 407 and FS 407.2 should be better, not only because of the price, but also because of the new and larger housings, real Jet 5/6 tweeters, better and larger chassis and probably also more complex development.I've heard the Elac Vela FS 407 in a different context (nice showroom, correct placement, high sound volume) so it's difficult (=impossible) to make a fair comparison, however my impression is that the the Vela 407 are even better than the Carina FS 247.4. At any price below €1500/pair the Elac Carina FS 247.4 are an exceptional deal. Developed from scratch by Rolf Janke and Andrew Jones, they are incredibly well made (see screenshot below), with die cast aluminium speaker baskets. I have them in the living room together with a pair of Elac Vela BS 403 and after a year, apart from the obvious greater extension of the low frequencies of the Carinas, I can't decide which of them I like better. The Vela FS 407 and FS 407.2 should be better, not only because of the price, but also because of the new and larger housings, real Jet 5/6 tweeters, better and larger chassis and probably also more complex development.
Technically speaking, the FS 247.3 is actually the predecessor of the Vela 407 (1.0), same Jet 5 tweeter and same chassis.
Saturn and Mediamarkt are selling the ELAC Carina FS 247.4 from time to time at a special price of € 499 each. Since the normal HiFi departments are being closed down in most markets, FS 247.4 are constantly being added online for this price. You have to have a bit of patience.

What do ya'll think - should I pick up a pair of these towers for $750 on facebook marketplace?
I was planning on waiting and likely spending much more on - Kef R3 Metas, or something from the AsciLab lineup once they're available, but 750 for some well built and pretty towers is appealing.
I have a pair of these for my media room and a set of the BS at my desk. I think thats a great price if the condition is good. I guess in the end it is up to you if you are looking to get a deal or wait for new (with AsciLab). What do ya'll think - should I pick up a pair of these towers for $750 on facebook marketplace?

I guess also if you think you are going to want to sell the Carina FS I guess determine if you think you can easily flip them if not happy?
How come you sold your Elac FS 247.4? You were so enthusiastic about them. You can sell everything if you set the right price )
I just sold my pair of FS247.4 (as new) and my pair of Polk R700 ( as new). Took me 2 weeks to sell it

A couple of questions: How did they compare with the Polk R700? What did you buy after selling them?
Beautiful living room and house, nice and bright.I had to change the layout of my 50m² living room, but my wife wanted less bulky speakers... I'm going with DIY Alti speakers, small bookshelves that are easy to integrate in my case with a little sub. (Alti measurements)
The Elacs are superb and have the advantage of going very low while taking up very little space. Compared to the R700s, they seem less linear to me. I found the R700s expressed themselves very well, especially when using the PEQ offered by Spinorama. I believe that acoustic measurements don't lie, and I only make purchases if the measurements are correct.
For those who are curious, here is a 3D tour of my living room with the Elac FS247.4

It's a real shame you gave away these beautiful speakers.
