Hi guys. I just bought a pair of MR5 to replace my old pioneer bookshelf speakers. I want to ask that since the MR5 has a downward firing sub, can i put it on top of insulation foam? I intend to use the foam to isolate the speakers with my desk. Will there any negative effect doing this?

Not that I've noticed. I bought some JBER acoustic isolation pads for my MR5 speakers to isolate them from my sheet metal desk and angle them more towards my ears.
I'm happy with the result.

Woofer looks like it's crossed over around 150Hz, and output is basically non-existent before 500Hz. At those frequencies, it's omnidirectional so the fact that it's facing downwards is basically irrelevant.
