I have two Echo Studios and an Echo Sub in a spare bedroom. In the Alexa app, I set Bass to -2, Midrange to -1, Treble to 0, and turned Spatial Enhancement off. I then connected a laptop to the TV and ran REW measurements.
My takeaway is that psychoacoustic smoothing is useful for judging broad tonal balance, but it can also hide important raw behavior. The Echo setup can look surprisingly balanced after psychoacoustic smoothing, while the raw response still reveals the complexity of a DSP-managed multi-driver smart-speaker/sub system.
w/ smoothing: surprisingly balanced
raw: not so pretty
