Hi all,

I’m looking for a way to make my beast-rig more family-friendly, so others can enjoy HQ audio. Recently, I got a Fosi Vol20 knob and with an Ipad to Roon they are a nice addition - maybe - but that got me thinking: Kids who wear Ipods all day just need to scroll to the next song. What I’d really like is some way to make a one button on/off switch that anyone in the house can use. (Fosi overlooked something, seems to me).

My Franken-rig is like most of yours - 15 boxes that power on through trigger cables, various auto-power-strips, and require 2-3 so-called ‘universal’ remotes + a phone vel sim. to control.

Here’s my ideal: Stream music in the car by Qobuz and upon parking in the driveway and walking in the door, the Unif network automatically powers on the preamp and seamlessly continues the song (not a fan of the google/apple-verse).

Additionally, and maybe better: could one make a one button on/off solution? Maybe it’s a Philips hue wall switch? Currently I must find the preamp remote > press on > find the ipad (usually uncharged) > ipad button on > open Roon > scroll > volume. That all is a non-starter for 12 year olds eternally plugged into EarPods, and for most adults. Here is where the expensive streamers by Lumin, Hifi Rose, etc seem to have an advantage: an app with an on button and unit with an outbound 2.5 trigger. However, I don't think they can power on yet when one opens the Roon app.

People talk about the ritual of vinyl, but digital, at least for me, requires just as much futzing about but with zero nostalgia. Have any of you succeeded in making HIFI audio playback as easy as personal audio, or at least in cutting down the steps?
