I do like your use of the patio brick for the base. The weight should create a lot of stability. And they are cheap.

Cool and good looking.

However, i think you have missed the opportunity to add a cable channel so that the cable is coming out of the base.

Also, depending on how much pipe you need, PVC can get expensive.

A nice cardboard tube should work as well and costs a lot less!

Hello,

Here a remix using 3D printing for the:
  • base adapter (to fit the PVC tube diameter),
  • the top plate, that makes the cylinder=>platform adaptation,
  • a securing bracket.
Cables will transit inside the PVC tube (big holes for XLR cable and power chord). Bottom cable hole leaves space to fill some sand at the bottom of the tube.

It will be a wooden bottom plate.

Should do the job.

I've never thought of or seen before a securing bracket extending from the stand itself. I just kind of accepted the fact that if the speaker tilts and dies, it dies.

I guess one can argue that might be safer than bringing the stand with it. Speakers tend to be soft vs floor, stands aren't.

Hi, the bracket is there because of the fixture points on the KH80. In my room, I will move the stands for serious listening positions. SO there is a risk at each "move", compared to a fixed setup with speakers in somehow portected locations.

The PVC tube stands will be softer po the floor than the speakers.

One built I will check the stability, to see what is the stability weakest element: stand base or speaker base. The bracket is adjustable and can be removed.

Here is important, if the 3D printing ease to make some fitting pieces like the top plate that exactly fit to the PVC tube.
