EDIT: @amirm did a review - find everything here: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/earmen-donald-dac-review.13638/

There's not much out there on the web in the form of meaningful reviews that don't feel a little "shill" like so I wanted to see if there is any other info or opinions over here on ASR.

Here's the highlights:
  • $99 USD
  • DAC: 32 bit Cirrus Logic CS 43198
  • USB: XMos 2XX
  • "Dual Power Supply" (Can draw power from both USB C inputs)
  • PCM 384kHz/32bit
  • DXD 352.8 kHz / 24-bit (copy pasted, not sure what the X is about, feels like the marketing dept)
  • MQA rendering (engaging saftey squints for obligatory comments regarding MQA)
  • ? SNR
  • ? THD

I mentioned it some time ago around hire as that's the beginning of their "affordable" offering, I am certain there are better choices.

CS43198 is same as CS43131 - integrated Amp. How ever would be interested to see the measurements for Donald as it has separate power line for the sakes of comparatio to many CS43131 based one's without it.
